I love their creme brulee, but although the price has not increased, it still costs more because they now give you less by not filling the container completely. So, you will pay the same and receive less for your money- effectively an increase in cost...to the customer.More

I ordered and paid for a strawberry cake in advance. I arrived to pick it up around 10:45 this past Sunday. The cake, for a birthday, was delicious--as always. I am not a huge cake fan, but I love this cake--by far my favorite and...I am in my 50s. Ordering online in the past was extremely problematic, but not this time. What happened to Ambrosia's on-site customer service? In the past, I have picked up orders on weekday mornings, and customer service has been wonderful. The bakery has been overrun with customers, and all has been handled smoothly and with charm. This past Sunday (I have not been in for a while due to the pandemic--no events to buy cakes for) at 10:45, presumably when customer service would be full force and at its best, I walked in during an unexpected Sunday morning lull. The cake was ready for me, but I needed to buy candles. The pick-up person sent me to an in-house coffee, etc. cashier. I was the only person in line, but he was engaged in an endless call (while my pick-up service person stood watching me from across the store, as did a few other service people). Endless call, and a line behind me formed. Apparently someone was sent to another register during the long wait, and one of the not-very-busy service people (a manager?) tipped off the now lengthy line (still same telephone call; catering orders or weddings have been made in less time; this guy was taking the call behind a tip jar, I ALWAYS contribute to those, but I got to study the jar during his lengthy call and thinking that he should at least have the judgment to put that under the counter for the time being) that the standard "items" register was now open. There was one customer before me. The person at this register clearly had very limited knowledge about how to run the register; of course I do not either, but the situation was so bad that I kept feeling I should try to help (of course, I was just thinking that--never would impose). He probably was another manager, maybe an owner, who did not work from the bottom up. Finally, after that endless transaction, the service person who tipped off the line that the register was open and did know how to run it (the one who avoided helping as a long line formed behind her colleague/employee with the endless call) checked out my $2.50 candles (unfortunately essential for the birthday) with a "Thank you and have a good day." Wow-? To get the hard part, producing an amazing and unique strawberry cake (I have paid the $$$$ to ship back to Massachusetts), and completely fail on in-person service is stunning to me.More

I have tried for 4 days to get an ordered placed for a valentines cake for my wife. If they do answer the phone it is, we can take your name and someone can call you back. To this date i have left messages on...the machine, left messages with other departments, and even emailed in questions and still have not even had 1 other form of communication. The food may be good, but the customer service does affect my willingness to return back to try new things or even get something for a "just because" occasion.More

We purchased a half sheet Spider Man birthday cake with the almond frosting and batter, WOW WAS I SURPRIZED! The cake weighed about 9 pounds and was enough for about 25 people and tasted FANTASTIC! I also bought a cinnamon roll which was wonderful and...HUGE! We will make all our bakery purchases from this establishment from now on, even though it is about 40 miles from hone.More

We were so disappointed with our King Cake . It was supposed to have a layer of cream cheese and a layer of pecan praline. The layer was so thin that you could not tell what it was. The only way we knew what it...was ,was by the label. We will not return to Ambrosia next year for King Cake.More

Stopped in on 9/15/19 on our way to the airport. We are former residents of EBRP and have been there before. While I was getting a coffee, I asked the wife to grab me a blueberry fritter. It had to have been yesterday's leftover. Very...hard and stale. Lots of sugar and very little blueberry. I should have gotten them to give it a 30 second blast in the micro. Too bad.More

Either They have a new baker or the baked goods were old. Blueberry fritter tasted like dried up bread. baklava was missing honey. Cinnamon roll was old. This is not the Ambrosia I’m used too

My first time in your bakery and it was the mecca of everything you crave for in sweets. Easy location to find, plenty of parking, sparkling clean facility, very polite and welcoming staff. We will certainly be back. Cute lil area to eat inside. They...also offer lunch on the menu and special orders, gifts. Charming place. Your eyes light up the minute you step inside. =) Great place. So yummy & sweet.More

I will NEVER....I repeat NEVER order ANYTHING from this bakery AGAIN!!! I usually never post a bad review. If I have a bad experience, I just won't post at all but I had to make an exception for this since it basically ruined my child's...birthday party!! Let me begin with the ordering process. Now, I went in to order this cake (which was ordered over a week in advance). The lady who took my order was clearly more concerned about going to lunch rather than taking my order!! She was not helpful at all and her attitude was horrible. I even stated, "if it's time for your lunch break, I'd be happy to wait" (as her colleague seemed WAAAY more helpful to her customers and also seemed happy to help those customers). I was very nice when stating this, by the way. Let me put it this way, she spelled my name wrong on my receipt...after I spelled it 3 times for her. I should have gone with my first mind and cancelled my order then, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt...I shouldn't have. The week prior, I had also brought action figures to include on the cake (because the only thing that they had was an edible image of a shield...which I'll get to in a sec). So, on the day of pick up, I had to wait for a while before they brought the cake out, which threw up a red flag. When they finally brought the cake out....OMG...I couldn't believe they would let something out of their "prestigious" bakery that looked like this. I saw it and said, "What the hell is this?" before I knew it!! It was so bad until the woman who brought it out said, "I'm not a baker or cake decorator but I didn't think that was right, at all”...she was talking about the CAKE!! Let me start with the edible image (shield)...even non-cake decorators would know that an edible image is supposed to be placed on smooth icing, in order to appear as if it as least a part of the cake. Alrighty, this edible image looked like a 2 yr old cut it out. The cake had crooked red stripes on top, on top of which they placed the edible image, so needless to say it looked like a piece of cut out paper slapped on top of of icing stripes...didn't even bother to try and put a border of any kind around the outline of the image to try and hide the border of the edible image...although that would not have helped anyway. Additionally, those action figures that I brought, were nowhere to be found. So, they took the cake back into the kitchen to "fix it." By this time, it was 1:15 pm....my kid's party was scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm...I was at the bakery before 1 pm. Well, the fixing that they did...you'll see in the pictures. They put a crooked circle around the edible image that looked no better. They did eventually find my action figures (they were still in the drawer at the check-in counter where the cakes are ordered). Sooo, by the time all of this was done, it was after 1:30 pm. I had to pay for my baby's party by the hour, so this had eaten into some of the time...not to mention having guests who had arrived already and having to complete set-up!!! On to the taste....terrible. I was hoping that after all of this, the cake would at least taste great....absolutely not the case!! No one at the party could eat it. We had to throw it out!! Having paid almost $100 bucks for a cake, I expected it to be beautiful and delicious. I am more than disappointed with this whole experience!! Words cannot describe my disappointment....but I sure tried to describe it in this review. My child had been so excited about this cake...thanks for ruining that for my 4 year old!!More

Moving from New England to the South, we're on a mission to find the "perfect bakery" - Ambrosia wins hands down ! The selection of deliciousness was intense. Numerous kinds of cakes, cookies, muffins, truffles, gelato was a sweet tooth person's "heaven". Samples were available....Coffee. Sit down area to create a cafe atmosphere. Enjoyed an apple fritter ! Friends had cinnamon roll, canoli, chocolate brownie, coffee cake and truffles. Found it extreme;y helpful that prices were listed on each food item. Very pleased you can purchase a "serving size" and not the entire cake. Staff was very welcoming, friendly and bent over backwards. Wonderful experience ! Will certainly go back !More
