Strickland’s may possibly be Paducah’s best restaurant. The menu choices expand beyond seafood. The food, service and prices are all very good. Recommended.

We try to visit local restaurants when traveling rather than chains. Strickland’s had excellent service and excellent food. I love coconut shrimp and have had it at a number of restaurants, but Strickland’s has the best that I’ve ever had.

We loved it!! We had the hot dip as an appetizer and it was great. Both entrees, Blacked Catfish Jubilee and the Crawfish Jubilee were wonderful. We had sides of gumbo, red beans and rice and bread pudding for dessert. Delish!!!

As my title states, overall I would rate Strickland's as a 3 Star restaurant serving OK seafood. Reasonable dinner prices but food in general is OK but nothing to write home about. I guess you do indeed get what you pay for. Restaurant itself is...somewhat dated but generally clean and ready for family dining. We had a large party of 13 adults on a Saturday evening at 5pm. our server appeared to be somewhat new but was very friendly and promptly took our drink and appetizer orders. Of the appetizers, the fried clams were blah, the fried alligator was what you would expect and the fried crawfish was pretty good. In general most of the diners ordered fried shrimp or fish dinners. They commented that the food was good but the coatings were just OK ( Captain D's was commented being much better). My blackened Mahi was overdone but still OK. The big surprise was the 1lb snow crab legs that the diner could hardly finish and said was quite good. Pricey at $35 but probably still a bargain. In summary, good for a family dinner but not a special evening event.More

Had lunch on our way through town. Excellent food! I had the fried crab cakes and potato casserole. They were very large, and delicious. The hush puppies were fantastic, almost a sweetish cornbread taste. My husband had the catfish and red beans and rice. He...said they were the best beans and rice he'd ever had, and the catfish was also great. Definitely will be back!More

I was really wanting cajun & raw oysters so we chose Strictlands. The service (maddie) was fabulous! The oysters also excellent! My husband ordered fried oysters for his entree and throughly enjoyed them. Sadly i didn’t have a good experience with my food. In adddition...to the raw oysters I (we) ordered a bowl gumbo. I’m not super picky but this gumbo wasn’t fit to eat! I tried, trust me, nope, it wss awful! It looked lke chili and has grease floating on top. It almost made me sick to my stomach. Whatever you do, avoid the gumbo! The menu says the chef has been making gumbo for 40 years. My husband said maybe he needs to start over?!! We’ll go back here again. Dont let mu review stop you from eating here! Overall its a decent place.More

We almost didn’t go in once we drove up and saw the outside, but there were several cars there even midweek. The design and decor is drab and cheesy, but we were glad we stayed. It was dog friendly on the patio. It seemed weird...to have to go through the restaurant with the dog to get to the patio. The food was very good and there was a variety of fun drinks to choose from. The service was slow, but otherwise our experience was great.More

Great place for seafood, with reasonable prices. The fried shrimp was as good as what I get on the Gulf. I’m not sure why it took me so long to try this place, but I will definitely be back.

Don’t waste your time… This place was, how do I say it gracefully? Abhorrent. So on top of noticeably absent real food was an overwhelming odor of solvent and/or other strong chemicals originating from the drainage system of this establishment. Employees were pouring these down...the drains in the bar area then threw a commercial door mat over the drain to mask the odor. So, before my “food” arrived I was already feeling slightly nauseous. I ordered the blackened shrimp over rice with steamed broccoli. There was nothing fresh about any of these items and the rice which looked like it should’ve been dirty rice had absolutely zero flavor to it. No I don’t have Covid, I can taste just fine. Two small hush puppies were included and they were as dry as your mother in laws thanksgiving day turkey. All the food on my plate was undoubtedly procured from a wholesale food company, probably Cisco because these food stuffs were exactly the food stuffs they deliver, barely recognizable as the food they represent and far from any semblance of quality. I rarely leave reviews anymore, I just don’t have time, but this one needed it. Don’t waste your money or time here, after 40 years they need to shut it down and retire already.More
