We didn't know what gumbo was so we got a shot of every single one they had made. The owners were really kind. The portion was huge and quite heavy but absolutely worth to try. Very reasonably priced as well.

Cheap cheap Cheap.. I did not enjoy the food. The quality is just poor. I had the big plate, so I was able to try the Gumbo and Jambalaya. The Jambalaya was a bit ok but the Gumbo is the worst.

Lots of varieties here, so they let us try the different samples. We ended up getting the gumbo, etouffee, marque choux, and the drunken chicken. Everything was rich and smooth and fulfilling. The drunken chicken did stand out as the winner as it was full-bodied and so delicious. For dessert, the bread pudding was gooey and sweet and warm; we... More

I really enjoyed the food just like every time I go in. More than you can eat, great flavors and Ale8 on tap.

The food tasted amazing, was super fast and very inexpensive. They even let us try a couple samples to gauge the spicyness of dishes we were interested in. We will definitely return next time we are in Lexington!

Every time I've been, the food has been excellent. We tend to get carryout, and it's always piping hot. Everything is wonderfully prepared and the vibe is cool.

Food was excellent and great service. Not fine dining but they don't promote themselves as that. We had a great time celebrating a friend's birthday and they even brought her a cookie.

NO being home, this was pretty close to Mother's. The atmosphere was a little off being in a strip mall; but the food did not disappoint! Great Gumbo, Ettouffee, and Jambalaya. Nothing was short of exccellent

Was disappointed in this restaurant. Thought we were going to have a nice sit down New Orleans style food. Tasted Ike soggy fast food with little atmosphere in restaurant. Would not go there again. My sister and I were shocked as the food tasted like it had come out of a box and was fixed in mass quantities and then... More

Description
Gumbo Ya Ya Fast Casual Cajun Creole is locally owned & operated by Greg and Tressa Todd. Greg started his career in the Cajun restaurant business in 1989 as an assistant manager for New Orleans native Joe Vuskovich (Original founder of Jozo's Bayou Gumbo). Greg worked under Joe V's wing for many years as a prep cook, store manager & co-partner of the original Yats Cajun Creole. After several years in the business, Greg decided to open his own Cajun joint with a “keep it simple” motto & no frills. Thus the chalkboard menu and tax included pricing. The S. Broadway location opened it's doors in January of 2004 and continues to serve up Lexington's finest Cajun cuisine around. Greg takes great pride in knowing every plate of food served in his store is prepared by him using fresh local produce (no preservatives) & that he is dishing up damn good Cajun Creole for a can’t beat it price! So, whether your in the mood for the famous Yatwich, or you need to satisfy your irrepressible urge for Maque Choux, or you just want ya some Red Beans & Rice on Wash day, Ya Ya's has got you covered!
