We ate dinner here during the Bourbon Festival. My expectations were low because the town was crowded and the restaurant had a long wait. We waited in the bar and it was worth it. The food and the service were top shelf and the cost was reasonable. We had steaks and sides and all was very good and prepared as... More

We went to eat here on a Saturday evening. It took almost 3 hours to eat. Disgustingly horrible service, terribly over/under cooked food and incompetent employees from the hostess to manager and everyone in between. We asked if the huge TV right next to our table could be turned on for football. That took an hour and 15 minutes for... More

Tucked away in the Spaulding Building in quaint Bardstown, KY, this place is worth the effort it takes to find it! Approaching the Spaulding Bldg from the front (see photos), you'll walk down a pathway to the right of the entry stairs. Under the stairs, an unassuming door with a quiet sign will lead you into a cool, quiet haven.... More

2 couples for dinner-we were traveling and stopped at the visitor's center. They reccomended The Rickhouse and said probably wouldn't need reservation if we went early. Got there early and hostess said do you have reservations-when we said no she walked away in a bit of a huff saying she would have to see if she could find a server??... More

This was a last minute decision for a friend and me. We found that it's better to have a reservation or the hostess frowns upon you a little. The place was nearly empty, but she just gave off the vibe that we were an inconvenience. The meal was great and the bourbon selection was good as well. Definitely a place... More

What a unique setting in the basement of an old building, akin to an old-time barrel storage room. Very creative and authentic setting. Our food was delicious! We had the Pork Chop and BBQ Chicken, with Ceasar Salads as appetizers. Each portion was huge, which appears to be the 'normal' size. Unless you are a champion quantity food eater, the... More

We visited after a stop on the bourbon tour and had excellent food and service. Flight of bourbons was a little pricey but "when in Rome".

I am admittedly, a big fan and promoter of The Rickhouse -- both with friends and for some fairly significant business events. That was, until yesterday ... Two of us ordered drinks. One came. We ordered bruschetta (which is great). It came, but accompanied by "would you like side plates" from the terrible waiter. Group of four seated behind us... More

We are so very sorry to learn that you had a bad experience. Please know that on the night in question we had a brand new server. This was his first night working alone without a trainer. We are so very sorry that because of this, you weren't able to enjoy your dinner. This is certainly not what would be... More

What can I say about this restaurant other than bring your own waiter. The service is horrible, you will have to wait about 15 min just to get a drink and if the waiter doesn't have a clue of what beers are poured then you need to get up and go to the bar to get one. The menu is... More

We are so very sorry to learn you had this experience when dining with us. The server in question was brand new, and this was his first night out of training. We are very sorry that this was the outcome, and that it so negatively impacted you. Please know, that this is not our standard of operations by any means.... More

Great food, impeccable, elegant server in an historical building. The highlight of our business trip to this area. Be sure to get a wine recommendation for your meal.
