Maybe it was just a bad night, but I ordered the special, hot beef on bread, served with one trip to the salad bar and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were supposed to be homemade, but I thought they had no flavor. The hot beef was horrible. The homemade bread the beef was served on was really good. The salad... More

Food is good in this local restaurant. Some Czech specialties are available. Sometimes a conversation with a local adds interest as well.

We had breakfast here four days ago. Coffee was good. But the Swisskett omelet was the total bomb. Home smoked brisket and swiss cheese in an omelet. When the server asks if you want mushrooms with it, say yes. Jill had bacon and scrambled eggs. She gives them two thumbs up. And, the pecan pie was fantastic, yes, dessert for... More

We were traveling along I70 on our way home from vacation. It was getting late and we needed to find dinner before everything closed. We saw a sign on the freeway and took a chance. It was worth the two mile drive. It is a very small, rural town with a huge Czech egg-great photo op, by the way. This... More

Family style restaurant with everything homemade from scratch. Great flavor and wonderful pastries. Don't miss a cup of homemade coffee with homemade kolaches. Great service, friendly family style customers.

I'm writing this review well too late. It was bad the first time I tried it and I should've known the second time was going to be just as bad. My first experience was not great. I was greeted by a kind lady with short curly hair with a great attitude. She got my water for me and kept a... More

Good food. Friendly atmosphere. Buffet for lunch each day and Friday, Saturday, Sunday evenings. Sunday buffet of pan fried chicken is the best. The homemade pies are one of the main stays of the restaurant.

When we walked in, we were directed to the buffet, which contained standard breakfast fare. Not usually big buffet fans, but we needed some meat with our breakfast and this is what was open in town. Buffet held pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy. Sausage was delicious. The rest was ok, but not really that good. Really disliked the eggs... More

We ate a late lunch, early dinner at Made From Scratch. The staff is friendly, and the food is good home cooking. We did not take advantage of the lunch bar, as we wanted to try their menu. The pies are made there, and one receives a generous portion.

My husband and I eat here at least once a week. They buffet is good but not a lot a variety for veggies, usually just corn and green beans. The hamburgers are fantastic on a home made roll and breakfast comes with toast from homemade bread. The Kolaches ( a fruit fill pastry) are a regional treat. The pies are... More
