Dinner at 715 was a wonderful discovery in Lawrence. The homemade pasta was delicious and the affordable wine list introduced us to a tasty Italian rose. Our server was gracious and perfectly paced the meal.

Had a memorable evening at 715 years ago, so on our return to Lawrence we made sure to return. Arranged reservations early, which is definitely necessary on a winter game day.
715 offers a cozy, rustic dining experience with seating at tables or the bar top, as well as their heated outdoor space.
If you’re a fan of candied ginger, go for the bonfire cocktail. Really enjoyed it. As for food, the grilled octopus appetizer was so good—and a really generous portion served with an especially satisfying mix of textures and flavors (spicy Calabrian chili paste, cooling herb aioli, crispy fries).
The star of the meal was the house focaccia. If you’re a fan of spongy bread soaked in flavorful oil, this one’s an absolute must.
I had the shrimp spaghetti and found the butter sauce too rich for me. My boyfriend didn’t, and I had just had the cauliflower soup before it while he had salad. That might have been the difference.
The server had a simple mix-up with his order of scallops and pork belly. It was no great issue for us, as we’re exceptionally flexible when dining out, but the server took it off the bill—an impressive move of great service.
Great restaurant for a special occasion, date night, or indulgent treat. Enjoy!

715! How I love thee. Anytime I have the opportunity to visit family in Kansas City, I make sure to make my way to Lawrence for a family dinner at 715. I think about the delicious meals I have had since visiting the restaurant starting in 2015 and not one meal has disappointed. This most recent visit found me dining on the ribeye which was prepared to perfection. I've also never gone wrong with any of the pasta dishes - penne ragu, lasagna, and spaghetti & meatballs. These are the best pasta dishes I've had outside of Italy. My friend who lives in NYC even comments on the spaghetti & meatballs she's had at 715 and says not many places in her hometown compare either. Thank you for always preparing meals that satisfy one's soul and leaves us happy (and planning our next visit!)

This is a nice little restaurant in downtown Lawrence that was hightly recomended to us.
The good: It is a nice space in an old building. The place is inviting and romantic. The food was overall very good. The housemade Pasta and pizza dishes are exceptional such as the lobster ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs. They have an excellent Caeser salad. Other menu choices available. A good wine and cocktail menu.
The not so good: Our experience with the service there that eveneing was one of the worst anywhere. After waiting an exceptionally long time to order we had to ask another server for our waitress. Service the rest of the night was no better. Our server spent almost all her time hanging around the front bar the first half of the evening, and eating her dinner at the kitchen bar during the second half of our evening. One of our dishes came out undercooked twice.
Our experience with the service was such that we will likley not go back. This is a shame since it is a very nice and romantic restaurant and the food overall was very good. The poor rating is based almost entirely on the service.

Our server seemed more interested in her friends at another table than she was with us. We waited over 15 minutes for our first round of drinks. When we tried to order, she seemed highly distracted and chose not to write down our order...always a bad sign. We never did get the soup our clients ordered. We flagged another staff member to tell them about a charge dispute on the bill and waited another 15 minutes for the server to come back and grab the check. When we mentioned some of the issues we had about the long wait and the poor service she said she would let the manager know. After another 10 minutes of waiting for him to come by our table we decided to leave because our clients had an early flight. Sadly this is the second time we’ve brought clients to this establishment...we took a chance again hoping a different outcome but this time it was too much. Please do better and have your staff more aware of their surroundings. Save your time and money and avoid the 2 hour aggravation.

Was there may 7 four people
Drops down from one of the best in
Lawrence to just average and when you factor in the price it falls to pub quality
Except some pubs are excellent
So without bashing the food
I’ll comment on just one dish
Penne ragu. Ragu should be shredded
Meat slow cooked. Their version was
Hamburger meat in tomato sauce
Pretty pitiful for $24.00
The other 3 people with me did not fare any better. Mass st fish right next door is great
And 1 block away merchants is the best
And most consistent in town
Enough said. Not ever going back

Passing through town on our way from KY to CO, we were looking for outdoor, COVID-safe dining on a mild but cool spring night. 715 was the perfect choice! It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. My husband enjoyed his strawberry margarita and the house white wine was good. The salmon crostini appetizer was fresh and tasty. We shared one of the specials, pork schnitzel with spaetzle and spinach, which was delicious comfort food for a cool evening. This restaurant does COVID outdoor dining better than any I have seen. There is currently no indoor dining, but an expansive, nicely appointed patio has been built out front on the historic main street. Plastic shields around the outside protect against the wind, but are open at the top to ensure circulation. Tables were appropriately spaced, and patio heaters made for a comfortable and inviting dining experience. Our server was excellent. Overall, a great experience!

My girls and I felt like royalty here during our much needed dinner together. The chicken gnocchi was surprisingly light but still filling. Must have been the delicious savory broth it was resting in. We all loved our cocktails but I think my honey bees knees just hit the spot. Super friendly and helpful wait staff. We'll be back for sure!!

I went to have a nice meal when the owner freaked out and started verbally harassing a woman and her daughter. It destroyed our meal. I cannot get over how awful he was and they were totally respectful. A guy like that I can't imagine working for him, let alone eating at his restaurant.

What a fun first visit. We tried the goat cheese croquettes, the focaccia and the house salad and then split the pork schnitzel. Wonderful food, cozy atmosphere. We’re definitely coming back

715 has opened and is better than ever. The front and back patios are beautiful and food is more delicious than before. Matt H., Hanna, Emily and the entire staff go out of their way to make sure that all the restaurant’s patrons receive outstanding service!

My wife and I were traveling cross country from PA pulling our camper when we pulled into Lawrence, KS to spend two nights at a KOA campground.
Our first night we went into Lawrence to find a good place to eat as we were getting tired of cooking in the camper. We were looking for a cozy restaurant with good food and the 715 really lived up to what we were looking for. It’s a smaller restaurant but the ambiance is great.
We both wished the 715 restaurant was closer to where we lived as this would be a favorite of ours.

Always so good here! I used to live in Lawrence and ate at 715 fairly often. However, I moved away several years ago. This was my first time back and they were even better than I remembered.
My wife and I shared the focaccia bread, meatballs, wedge salad, and salmon. Everything was outstanding!

I used to enjoy this place because of the quirky atmosphere and decor and the food is always good. The patio is nice. But the last few times I’ve been shocked at my bill. Last time four people shared two appetizers, two pasta entrees without sides, two beverages and three wine/beer cocktails. The bill came to $144 before the tip. The entrees - pastas - came with nothing, not even a scrap of bread or a leaf. Lasagna was delicious and a good portion. The other pasta dish was filled cannelloni shaped noodles: two, each the size of a frankfurter, nearly naked. The restaurant was noisy and we had asked to sit outside, and Mass Street was full of noisy traffic including large trucks and an extremely loud motorcycle that passed back and forth, seemingly to show off with loud noises, the entire time. This noise is common in Mass. The food was fine. Service was fine. It’s too expensive by 100%. I’m sorry but I won’t be back for awhile. I feel ripped off the last few visits.

In town for a 4 team Rugby tournament. Our son played and we drove over from Chicagoland on Friday night and attended the tourney on Saturday. Took our son and went to 715 for dinner. Very pleased. Food was good and Anthony took very good care of us. Attentive without hovering. I had the lasagna which was outstanding. Other items had were the gnocchi and summer squash agnolotti. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Sat outside and weather was nice.
