We travel through Kansas on a regular basis. Junction City is a preferred stop and Cox Brothers BBQ is one of the main reasons. The food is always excellent, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable. What else is there!

Considering that this is approximately 2 hours from Kansas City, this is the best authentic BBQ in the area. There is a wide selection of meats including beef, pulled pork, all types of ribs, burnt ends, ham, etc. In addition, there are many sides and sauces to choose from, and everything has an authentic smoked flavor. The prices are very... More

Arrived about 20 minutes before closing. Place was empty and food was ready in 10 min. The brisket was very good for an additional $1. I thought the red-skin potato salad was excellent as a side. Good place for a bite.

Awesome food, awesome peoples after 5 hours driving the best place to stop by. The only thing they can improve it's by opening one in Florida where we came from. Stop here you will not regret it.

It's not the down home southern BBQ, but it will hold you over with their dishes. Good smoky tender meat. Just not southern if you know what I mean.

Great place, great staff and GREAT pulled pork! The brisket is mighty fine, but the pulled pork with original sauce is what you want! Add some mac and jack (mac and cheese) and you will not have time to take pictures, just eat!

Had the Carolina BBQ sandwich with cole slaw on the side. Just amazing. I tried different sauces on it and never really picked a favorite, but the sandwich itself was just great. Will be back!

This is one of my husband and I's go-to date places. Everything is delicious, but my favorite is the mac and cheese. He loves the Memphis Nachos. The servers are very friendly as well.

The Cox boys know how to smoke meats. Everything I have tried at their restaurants is wonderful. Smoked chicken, pork, beef brisket, you name it, it's great.

Description
This location is temporarily CLOSED while we take some time to perfect a NEW style of BBQ. Catering services will, however, continue to be available throughout the Flint Hills during this time! When we decided to open a BBQ joint years ago, we couldn’t decide which kind of ‘Q’ we loved the most… so we just decided to offer it all. Now, we’re working on a one-of-a-kind "Cox Bros. style BBQ" that will be unique to our region, but we feel like we can only do this effectively at one location first. So we’re starting in Manhattan, KS. Then we’ll bring it over to Junction City after it’s been perfected. We look forward to being back up and running in Junction City sooner or later.
