I met my son for lunch at noon. He also brought his wife. I was leaving for okoboji Iowa later and wanted to have lunch with my son since it was his birthday. This us s self service bar that serves the best sandwich called the Charlie boy. It is similar to a tavern but much better. They have their... More

Miles Inn should be marked as a historical landmark in Sioux City. It's been around since the 1920's as a food market and turn into a bar in the 1940's. The owner Charlie Miles created the Charlie Boy and named it after his son Charlie Jr. That loose meat sandwich with cheese, ketchup, mustard, onions and pickles has been a... More

There's a reason this place has been in business for so long - they do only a few things, but they do them very well. The beer is cold and served in huge, frozen schooners. The Charlie Boy sandwiches are simple but delicious. The crowd ranges from college kids to old-timers, all of whom seem to co-exist nicely. Plenty of... More

If you like cold beer, black pepper and ground beef, you'll love this bar! Service doesn't matter at a place like this. Don't be shy, find out the bartender's name, and you'll get whatever you need ASAP. The charlie boys, schooners and cocktails are priced just right. If you happen to be in Sioux City, bring some cash, and check... More

The Charlie Boys are served all day at this Morningside tavern. The sandwiches have a peppery flavor. I think there must be some oatmeal in the meat as it has an unexpected texture. They are a local favorite. The bartenders greet their customers with a SMILE. The "L" shaped bar is located at one end and a pool table on... More

One bite of the incredible Charlie Boy sandwich will provide a lifetime of memories. This sandwich is unlike other Tavern, Loose Meat or Made Rite ground beef delicacies to be found throughout the country. Full of juicy, peppery flavor best served with just mustard and pickle, but if you are so inclined, go with the works. An iced schooner of... More

Nice little morningside bar. Great taverns (called Charlie Boys). They are a little spicy, taste awesome. Get them loaded for best flavor. Wash them down with a schooner of Killians Red... yum!
