Service was good -- got right in at our reservation time with prom-dressed groups all around us. I liked the variety in the menu, but the delivery was just a little lacking. My salmon was undercooked (not a major infraction in my book, since overcooked is far worse) and, more notably, under-seasoned. My wife's pork shanks were similarly unimpressive. The... More

Easy reservation. Arrived on time, friendly greeting by hostess and table was waiting although very busy night. Nice wine and food selection. Unique pizza is a specialty, we order sm for appetizer, delicious. My rare filet and wife's beef "osso buco" wonderful, presentation and flavor. Megan was attentive and knowledgeable server. Next time caesar salad would be our choice, house... More

Ten of us had dinner at a large table downstairs. Of the the four dinners I had in Dubuque on this graduation trip, this was the best place. I wish I had found L.May Eatery sooner. I had the pork chop for dinner, it was huge and excellent! Very good selection of wines. The service was very good.

Large specialty pizza and a bottle of wine with wonderful service, can't ask for anything more. If you don't want pizza the filet is delicious. The relish tray has some fabulous cheese on it, give it a try. Easy location downtown and love the outdoor seating when it's warmer. Full bar and comfortable for dinning.

I selected this restaurant based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. The menu was seasonal and full of fresh, flavorful options. Service was prompt and attentive. I particularly appreciated the fact that the tables where not placed so close to each other that you felt like you were part of the conversation of other diners. If I lived in... More

Perhaps because of past reviews we were expecting something spectacular--and it just wasn't. Service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance was just OK. The salad, fig pizza (appetizer), and creme brulee were good, but the main courses were unremarkable. My daughter had shanks on mashed potatoes and I had the vegetarian curry. First mouthfuls were tasty, but there wasn't enough complexity... More

The place was busy on a Saturday night when we arrived for our 6:15 reservation. We were seated immediately. Service was prompt and pleasant. The entrées were in the $20-$30 range. Wine by the bottle began about $30. Two in our party had salmon. They thought it was fine but it didn't seem to be extraordinary. One had the special... More

I've been a customer of LMay for many years. This is a family-owned establishment, and a step above your average Dubuque cuisine. The owners and long-time staff pour their heart and soul into this place, and it shows--their doors are always bursting when they're open. Their seasonal menu and their chef are fantastic. Creative and delicious food. Their wine and... More

Dined here on a busy Friday night without a reservation. It was about a half hour wait but worth it! We shared the scallop appetizer which was amazing, and then had the L.May supreme pizza. The combination of toppings on this pizza were very interesting and tasted perfect together. This is a must for our next backyard brick oven pizza... More
