The service is prompt and friendly. However the food is so so and the typical cooking show is amateurish. The filet mignon does not look like one and doesn't taste like it. Feels like they try to compensate with quantity of food.

Family and friends watched the "chef" prepare dinner right at the table. It was worth the show. I would go back.

Going to House of Kobe - for a lot of people I know living in this area - is somewhat of an event, and for pretty good reason: it's basically Northwest Indiana's answer to Benihana. It's definitely on the much pricier side, but when you go for the hibachi grill, you get plenty of food with your meal. There's also... More

We went there with 4 pouty teenagers and 4 adults after a very long graduation afternoon. They were fully engaged by the Japanese cooks who spun cleavers and spatulas. Lots of laughs and surprisingly first-rate food in an Indiana suburb. One problem with an order which came with a glaze that was not clearly defined on the menu.

Really neat place. We don't go here all the time but the boys loved watching the chefs cook I front of them. The food was really good. We will definitely go to House of Kobe again soon.

Haven't been there in years. Now I remember why. Sushi was a step above what you get at the grocery, and twice the price. My wife and I don't get to eat dinner together very often, and we didn't tonight either, since my wife's meal was brought to the table almost 10 minutes after mine.

I read the reviews on this place and had my concerns, I'm glad we decided to go, yesterday was our second visit in the last couple of weeks. Both times we were there for early dinner, 4:30pm for the hibachi grill. Your seated immediately if your one of the first guests, after that you have to wait until more people... More

This is my second visit here, as the first was OK, but with reviews all over the spectrum, I decided it was probably hit or miss, but that perhaps they were straightening out their problems. Not so. Food was mediocre, but the HUGE turn-off was dirty plates. Literally, something had been through the dishwasher and the plates needed to be... More

Have always enjoyed dining there, unique experience. Went out for dinner with friends, met 5 friends and decided to go with one check for convenience. At the end of our meal the waiter brought the check and announced that the tip had been added on at 19% but if we thought he was so great we could add more if... More

We received a gift card for this restaurant and we were very satisfied with the taste and quantity of the food and the service. Our meals were prepared right in front of us with the Chef very friendly. We would recommend this restaurant.
