Great anniversary experience.

Went there for our 20 year wedding anniversary, staff were awesome and very friendly. Meal was great and very satisfying. Environment was pleasant.

being gluten free i was very happy with my steak sandwich...normally gluten free buns leave a lot to be desired but not here ! my companion had the non gluten option and was just as happy

Needs help badly

My husband and I decided to have dinner at the fairways tavern tonight, that was our first mistake. We got there just before 530 and ordered straight away so as we did not have to wait for our meals, we order cheese bread and medium rare t-bone steak and 12 oysters Kilpatrick as a main, I was amazed after watching children up at the bar and one even appeared to belong to a staff member child. My husband and I waited and waited for our meals, I ended up just mentioning to the young fellow that if they could please make sure that my husband steak was not over cooked. After 1 hour and 20 minutes our meals eventually came out, the oysters were overcooked and dry, my feeling is that when I brought my husbands steak to there attention, I feel they just left the oysters cooking or sitting on the bench and at nearly $40.00 for the oysters we ate 3. We haven’t any problem paying nearly $100 dollars for a meal , but we expect it to be eatable. I feel it was understand staffed, once people started to arrive there was 4 people at the bar including myself and someone’s child and I had to wait over 3 games of keno to check my ticket. I hope this improves your service and just want you to know that several people have said the same things about the food and the service. will not be back or would I recommend it to anyone. Your female staff member that serves the customer requires training in customer service.

Very disappointing.

Food was very average to say the least. Very basic and bland. Customer service is not great, which is very sad considering the money that has been spent to make the place look nice. This could be a gold mine if they stepped up with serving edible food, were more welcoming and friendly.

Disappointed

Very disappointed, went there for Dinner on Thursday night (18/1) the place looks great since the Reno but they have failed to update their menu details and website. We went for Schnitzel night and full menu after ordering drinks we went to order and were greeted with "oh we don't do that anymore" Hubby wanted Pork Spare ribs, that was unavailable as was Barra, salmon, chicken and a few others things. We left and went to Porters and will be reluctant to go back. We've been twice since the Reno and both times disappointed.

Second Visit. 1ST Time waited over an hour for parmy and chips. The excuse was that the register didn't print the order to the kitchen and apologies were given. 2nd Time Almost an hour past for the same meal. They said it was on the plate and would be ready soon. The table next to me turned up 30 mins after me and got 3 chicken parmas with chips within 15 mins of ordering. No apology offered or an explanation. So I walked out never to return. Go to Porters, at least they wait on the tables properly and dress appropriately. Really? a grown woman walking around with her bits hanging out of her shorts, great for the fellas but not for family viewing, very inappropriate and not impressive to look at.

Very disappointed we all had a problem with our meals Though I was the only on to complain I order a steak burger, The steak was cold so they replace in in 1 minute so the next one is just warm so it didn’t take long to realise they have already cook the steak and we’re on heating it up to put on burgers I piece of tomato lettuce and cold caramelise onions. I did ask for my burger to be cut into quarters they said they could not do it as the burger would fall about 😂 and I had a steak knife if I wanted to cut it. Well if there was anything on that burger that could fall apart I would have love to have see it. Should have stayed with your old steak burger you use to have

We sat down for a meal at our local golf club and we came in with no expectations and for that we weren’t overly disappointed. Meal times were lengthy and food was average. Pricing was reasonable.

Will be back. Had pretty good food. Chicken schnitzel was pretty good. Service seemed quick. Looked like several good weekday specials. Had a take away bottle shop too.

Unless you have kids don't even bother

Ok it was "Family night" Wednesday night. I chose to have my birthday dinner at this tavern plus it was the first time my very elderly in-laws had, had the time to visit and try the food. However I did decide that this was going to be decision night as to whether I would ever go there again. It really doesn't matter if it is "Family night" or not, the tavern staff/management do not seem to care one little bit about the comfort of ALL dinners. Every time we have been here to have a nice dinner and, I must stress as much as I can that the food is exceptional, there have been kids of all ages running and playing chasing games in the main dining room. And on my birthday night a baby screeching at the top of her lungs, all the dinners winced every time she did. Why on earth can't the shift management look beyond the $'s and ask the parents to quieten the child, ignoring such behavior at home is one thing but not in public at the discomfort of others is not. The shift management should ask the parents to keep the children at the table and not allow them to wander and run around the other dinners. There is a outdoor dining area, maybe they can turn it into a child play area like at Hungry Jacks and McDonalds. I am a parent and grandparent and know that parents have the right to take their children out to dinner. However, I also have the right to go out to dinner and have a good time. I pay the same for my food as they do and have the right to expect that I will have a great meal in good company and not have other peoples children playing around my table, standing at my table looking at us, listening to children treating the room like a school playground, babies screeching. My in-laws first and last visit has left them with a bad impression. They have just moved into the local area and will prefer to drive to the Gatton RSL than come back here which is only 5 minutes down the road. My birthday dinner was a disaster, 5 people sitting at one table couldn't have a conversation, you just couldn't hear each other. I won't go back. The staff's ability to maintain order is dismal. The food is excellent and good value for money. The rustic decor is perfect and should be seen (the hand painted rustic antique hand saws are awesome to study and admire).
