My partner and I ate at the Bell last week, after a gap of some years. The place feels as friendly and welcoming as ever, with a good choice of beer and cheerful hosts. My partner chose a liver main course, which was excellent - and served on a plate. I had haddock and chips, which was served on a... More

Hi Jerry, Thank you for the marvellous and totally constructive comments. Glad you enjoyed the place, the food and booze. We need customer feedback, especially as us British are usually too reserved to give any opinion at all! It looks as though the serving boards let the side down on this occasion and we're really sorry. We can totally understand... More

Had a great evening at the Bell, everything was perfect and our waiter, Alain, went out of his way to make the evening seamless - he even managed to order a cab home for us when we couldn't get one. We were a group of ten, so we had our own room but it was a very relaxing but enjoyable... More

Wow what a fantastic experience. Six of us stayed in Cirencester last weekend to celebrate my daughter's 21st & my mum's 80th birthday, both falling on Saturday 15th April. We were looking for somewhere to eat dinner on the Saturday evening & my husband came across the Bell at Sapperton on Trip Advisor. It turned out to be a perfect... More

Hi Vicky, You were fabulous customers too. What an incredible coincidence that your lovely mum was born on the same day as the lady on the table next door - exactly 80 years before last Saturday night! It was a very special occasion for all of us and both parties concerned were perfect guest also, so thank you. I hope... More

After quite a few disappointing food experiences, The Bell was just what we needed. They welcomed our booking last minute, allowed our dog to lie down next to us whilst we ate inside. Food was tasty, example of 'gastro pub' food & reasonably priced. I had sharing platter to myself as a main & Banoffe pot whilst my husband had... More

We came here as a group of 12 including children. We all enjoyed our food and the staff were very helpful. There was a small kids menu and a good size adult menu. I had the specials and they were lovely. We were recommended this place as we were staying near for the weekend.

Hi Jenna, So glad you had a great visit and we were able to cater for small kids and 'good size adults' alike! Please can you let us know which party you were and who recommended us to you, so that we can treat them to an After Eight mint or two next time they're in?! Thanks again and please... More

We love the bell at sapperton! Been looking for the best roast in the area for a long time and you can't better it here. Meat is cooked perfectly not over cooked or dry which is rare these days (no pun intended) as a roast dinner seems to have turned into a get out as many as possible kind of... More

Thank you Bespokestone. What's your real name?! "A proper Cotswold pub doing things right", is as good as a review gets in our minds, so we're really grateful for your kind words. The roast sirloin is going down a storm at the moment...so it should do...bloomin' butcher just down the road costs us more than our rent each year!!! More... More

We couldn't fault any of the food served at this great pub in delightful Sapperton. The burger was the best with perfect pickles + crispy bacon. And the other two mains of sea bream + pasta were unusual and delicious. All followed with fab puds. Very good service too. Don't miss it if you are in the area

We have just had the most amazing experience at the Bell. After a mix up with our booking that turned out to be my fault, the staff were so kind and helpful to find us a table on a busy Saturday night. My parents shared the chicken platter, which was the best chicken dish they had ever tasted. My vegetarian... More

Good wholesome food starting with an all time fav of a jug of prawns with mayo. Shame the crab was off the menu but plaice was very good and husband was so impressed with the liver that we will return just to have this again. Description
The Bell is an 'away from it all' gem in the heart of the Cotswolds. In the beautiful village of Sapperton, we are a busy yet beautiful pub. Frequented all year round by walkers, riders, bikers and discerning diners and locals alike.

We pride ourselves on consistently being one of the very best pubs in the Cotswolds for food, drink and relaxed but professional hospitality. The Bell was one of the first real 'gastro'pubs in the early 2000's. We continue to serve up the very best of fresh, regional and seasonal produce, specialising in British dishes, regional beers, cocktails and wines personally and painstakingly selected by ourselves on our many wine trips around the globe.

Although we're famous for our top notch food, we're not just a rural restaurant. We welcome well behaved dogs, horses and children for either a casual pop in visit or a pre-booked meal.
