We had a reservation for a Friday evening and we were looking forward to an amazing meal after a recommendation from a friend. After waiting 45 minutes for our meal (which was fine as it was busy), my ribs arrived. They looked amazing. Sadly upon...biting into one I found it was cold. Not warm, not room temp, they were fridge cold. I called a staff member over and she had no idea what to do. She then said she would talk to the chef and took my meal away. 10 minutes later she came back to my table and said that the kitchen were going to microwave my meal. 15 minutes later and after my husband had already finished his meal, my plate came back out. Sure enough my meal had been microwaved. The chips were now soggy and overcooked. My ribs were scalding hot and dry and the salad had been scaped off and put back on. It was such a disappointment. My husband's steak was awful too, full of gristle and very overcooked. All in all we paid over $100 for this meal and a couple of drinks. Don't think we will risk it again.More

We arrived at approximately 5:40pm, as it is a Saturday we understood it was a busy night with plenty of bookings. We found a table that wasn’t booked until 7:30pm and asked a staff member if we could sit there, because we could be out...before 7:30pm. Your staff member had no idea and eventually said we could. Whilst we were waiting for the answer, my partner was able to locate a non-booked table. We sat down, waited in the line to order at the counter for approximately 10 minutes and ordered at 6:01pm (based on our receipt). Our meals arrived approximately half an hour later. My partner and I weren’t even halfway through our meals, when one of your staff told us that someone had just called and booked for 7pm and that we had to be out by 7pm. Firstly, this was incredibly rude. To interrupt us midmeal to say that someone had just called and booked a table, so we had to be out in 20 minutes when we had only just received our meals a short time ago. We were planning on having more drinks and a desert, but considering we weren’t even halfway through our meals that wouldn’t be an option. We tried to raise this with your FOH supervisor, who said she understood it is frustrating but instead of just finding another table to move the booking to (there were empty tables behind us), she asked if we wanted her to move the booking. The fact that she had to ask, when we were raising this as a complaint and were explaining we weren’t even halfway through our meal is astounding to both my partner and myself. It shows a very poor level of understand and customer care. Especially considering they initially didn’t want us to sit at a table that had a 7:30pm booking earlier. Not even 5 minutes after we spoke with the front of house supervisor, the people who made the booking were trying to kick us out of the seat and complained to another staff member that we were sitting in the seat that they booked. Their booking was at 7pm, this was at 6:45pm. My partner and I were both greatly disgusted and upset with this experience. We have dined in restaurants on both ends of the spectrum, from Michelin Star chefs to pubs in mining towns and we have never ever had such a poor experience. Based on this, we both were left feeling very uncomfortable and didn’t finish our meals. We were paying patrons, that your staff basically kicked out.More

Went on Mother's day . It was very busy . Staff were very efficient and friendly . The food was very good quality and good size portions but was cold . On each plate they had 2 eggs one egg on each plate which seemed...like it had being cooked ahead of time was covered with a fresh egg on top so maybe you wouldn't notice . We ate it and just put it down to being busy . So today went again for breakfast ordered the same 2 meals . One being a big breakfast and the other being bacon and eggs . Out of all the items on the plate only the eggs and sausage was hot . Mushrooms were cold and horrible. The tomato seemed like it was out of the fridge and placed on the grill to give some colour but very cold . Bacon was cold . Hash browns warm . The bacon and eggs was hot eggs and cold bacon . There was us and another table with 2 people on it . Didn't see the other part but hardly any cars in the carpark. Had a try of the different things on the plate and mentioned it to a waiter he was very nice offered to redo it but we had waited and started eating it . I was trying to eat mine fast trying so it was getting worse . I like to eat and enjoy but that's not how you should to eat your meal . The meals aren't cheap meals as if you went to McDonald's but at least McDonald's are hot or atleast warm . Rang the hotel to express our concern and spoke to the kitchen manager and he said he wasn't there at the time . Well sorry but doesn't matter the kitchen staff shouldn't be sending cold food out regardless if you were there or not . Standards are standards . Won't be returning or recommending. As we gave them the benefit of the doubt by going back a second time only to be disappointed.More

Sometimes you just want to experience an authentic "let's actually see where the locals go" bar and hotel. I was visiting my daughter at UQ Gatton and she recommended this little gem. Firstly, the rooms are excellent. Ok they are not luxurious but they are...comfy, clean and quiet. As good as most Hilton/Marriott rooms at half the price. There is a casino, resteraunt, pub, TAB betting and bottle store attached to this place. The casino is a roulette wheel and about 20 slots and a few other games. The YAB is part of the bar and seems to focus on horses and greyhounds. The steaks , well some of the best I've had in OZ! Try the 400g angus rump rare. Tender. Really friendly staff and plenty of locals. You can win a number of lucky draws, and why not enter the meat draw? If you do win and you are passing through, donate it to one of the Gatton vet students who frequent the place. Plenty of local character and great placevto stay in a region with few choices. Traffic into Brisbane at rush hours can be brutal. Otherwise it's 45 minutes out.More

A very big thank you to the utmost wonderful staff at this Hotel, from checking in Sunday evening with the lovely young lady who was happy to help after hours with my key, she was absolutely wonderful and helpful 🙌 sorry to hold you up...We loved the playlist in the foyer, grooviest classics that is just pleasant and uplifting when you’re coming and going, the rooms were beautiful, no way do the photos on booking.com do this place justice, it is a gorgeous modern luxurious hotel with a a splash of country art on the walls just bringing it all together. The large double head showers and high tech mirrors makes me want to renovate my bathroom at home. Linen fresh, room smelt lovely, curtains are BRILLIANT for someone who loves a sleep in. room service was incredible, dropped off with a smile and genuine politeness - amazingly cooked steaks delivered to our room so we didn’t have to venture out with my 2 year old, Oh and thank you for treating your oysters properly and with love, they were divine, prices on the menu were brilliant and honestly I’d pay more because the quality was top notch, and just to top it all off the lovely lady who was tidying rooms and getting them ready for their nexts guests was also extremely lovely, welcoming and kind to my little terror. To whoever owns this magical place, I certainly hope you know how great your staff are, they are all worth their weight in gold and we can’t wait to visit again 🙌More

Sitting on the deck four of us celebrating being together, after our son, and daughter in law, were back on their feet after both suffering strokes within the last 8 weeks. Our son lost all power in his right arm. Our daughter in law had...her left leg badly affected. we were relaxed and enjoying a drink, and the lovely Plainland view. Always something to see we said. Well long story cut short, they all had a lovely meal. I was offered an incorrectly ordered meal, I was willing to eat it, but the staff said "Oh it won''t take a few minutes to get the correct order" So I happily agreed. Needless to say after an entire lunch, I was given ZERO lunch. Kept being told "Not long". Well the kids and my husband had finished their drinks, and lunch. I was so upset I was nearly in tears. So I was offered a refund, which really meant nothing to me. Staff were lovely and polite, but service APPALLING. I did ring to officially complain and was offered a gift voucher. I turned it down because my experience is very fresh, and I don't really want to return in case this happens again. Isn't this a dreadful thing to happen at what is normally the wonderful Porters!!More
