Our family tried Shigs in Pit after reading the awesome reviews. It was good! Some of the things we all tried that we really liked were the spicy cheese sausage, the burnt ends, the green beans, and the spoon bread. Coleslaw, potato casserole, and chile mac and cheese were all just okay. The restaurant is clean, homey, and a little... More

I am from Eastern South Carolina and had no idea what to expect. I found the pulled pork moist and flavorful from the meat without a bunch of sauce. I did add the spicy vinegar sauce which was quite good. Green Beans were awesome. Don't hesitate to stop in and try this place. I'll stop again.

Went on the advice of a friend. Took my wife and Mom. Just a small establishment with a big menu. The ribs were fall off the bones good, but the spoon cornbread was unbelievable. Everybody should try the place at least once. Looks like a local favorite for carry out.

Shigs and Pit is a great small picnic cozy seating environment to eat at if you like BBQ. I highly recommend the pulled pork. All their food is good but in my opinion the pulled pork is best. They have three types of bbq sauce, tangy(bit on the watery side but ok), spicy(normal consistency of bbq sauce with a definite... More

Not nearly as good as expected from an award winning ribs restaurant. The chicken and ribs were both tough and dry. The sides appeared to have been sitting for some time, definitely not made in the last few hours. The service was great and everyone was very friendly.

One of my favorite local BBQ 'joints', if not my local favorite. One item of which I judge a BBQ join by is the beef brisket. Having had the privilege of eating beef brisket in Texas, I feel I know what the standard should be, and Shigs hit the mark. Soft and moist beef, with just the right amount of... More

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Ribs are tender with very little fat and great flavor, jalapeño and cheddar sausage is out of this world good. Pulled pork is really good and BBQ sauce is top notch. Beat BBQ in northeast Indiana.

There are two things I look for while traveling; homemade donuts and authentic barbecue. Shigs in Pit has the BBQ covered. This place is the real thing. Had the pulled pork, and the brisket. Both very good. The spoon-able cornbread was some of the best I've had. I cant wait to go back and try the smoked bologna.
