Visiting the island, we popped in for a couple of drinks and lunch mid week. It was quiet (noting the weather wasn’t great). From previous visits we’ve found Marina Cafe & Bar to be the better of the two main venues on the islands.
Covid safety was poor - a single QR code for checking in was hidden under their card reader. There were no prompts by staff (or signs) asking customers to sign in.
Given a reduced food menu, we didn’t dine. The beer selection was also limited compared to our last visit, noting their separate bar area was closed as it was quiet.

We stopped in here for brunch during a recent visit to Cockatoo Island. It was a quiet day, and we almost had the very pleasant cafe area to ourselves. Not much to complain about at all: the view and overall ambience is lovely and the service was fine and prompt. Breakfast rolls and wraps were sustaining, the carrot cake nice and moist, and the coffee was good, too. My only complaint is the coffee is only available in takeaway cups, even if you're having a sit-down meal. Not a good look at most times, let alone at a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site.

Perfectly adequate lunch, but nothing too amazing. Not a lot of seating options if the weather is not great. Good range of hot drinks.

The Marina Cafe & Bar on Cockatoo Island, has a simple great menu and the pulled pork wraps are so yummy and tasty...The coffee is also amazing.
It's a great beer garden, cafe very casual to enjoy the atmosphere of an old island that used to maintain ships. The cafe owner Melissa is a very friendly lady and the staff are lovely, (met her for the first time and enjoyed our little chat). I would recommend this place to everyone and especially if you want to bring your overseas/interstate visitors, its only a ferry ride and great views.

I went yesterday for a day trip and ordered a chick pea salad for for $14.50. It was very poor value, but the biggest concern was the way it was prepared. I was standing at the pick-up window and watched the whole process. The lady preparing it picked up the few salad components and then tossed them in a bowl with her hands, no gloves, and without washing her hands after handling money at the till. ! I am sure this is not in accordance with the health regulation, especially in time of a pandemic. I shall most certainly not be buying food there again.

Dear Reviewer,
Please remove this as this is not our cafe. We do not have a chickpea salad on our menu, nor do we have a "pick up window". I think you have mistaken us for a different cafe. Also our greek salad is prepared in our food truck kitchen which does not have a till/access to money. We also do not have any female chefs. This is quite a serious allegation and needs to be removed as is untrue to our business.

Expect to pay $10 for two small cappuccinos and a card surcharge on top. Most expensive coffee I have ever purchased. Same for everything else in their menu. I was also told their chef was late so breakfast wasn’t starting until later on the day. That’s a first. Lol

Visited in a bright and beautiful Saturday afternoon it was ok. It’s the location.
As you expect the prices are island / remote but why you don’t many expect is the food to run out, or to wait 30-45mins for your order.
The vista and setting is good... for cookatoo island. Options are limited. Plenty of seating.
Recommend - yes when on the island for a refreshment.
What is do great dislike is management responding to my post on trip advisor as this is for the public.

Marina Cafe and Bar is such a gorgeous place. We came here for Father’s Day lunch. Despite being busy, we were welcomed warmly by the staff and our food came quickly. We tried lots of different things from the menu. The pizza was delicious and the kids loved the fish and chips but my chicken burger was the highlight for me.
It has a great vibe, good music playing, happy staff and in a superb location. We arrived by boat and moored at the marina right next to the restaurant, which made it all the more special.
Cockatoo Island is wonderful for a family day out and we can’t wait to return soon.

Queued up at the cafe while one of us scored a table. Checked the fairly extensive menus next to the queue and decided our choices. 20 minutes in the queue and finally get to the counter to be told there are only toasties available. Pathetic. Could have pasted a sign over the whole thing saying TOASTIES ONLY SORRY! Everyone at the then had to make new choices further holding up the queue.

Mel and Dave looked after our family and friends celebrating my Wife's 40th Birthday. There was no fuss and everything was very well organised. The location was brilliant! Some of our guests hadn't seen Cockatoo Island before so was an adventure for them and their kids. Highly recommended for a celebration, lazy Sunday afternoon or simply an adventure for a young family. Food was great for a party.

It was a beautiful day and we felt like pizza. So we had vegetarian pizza - we're meat eaters but ... anyway it was truly fabulous.
Washed down with a soft drink and a cup of coffee. Hit the spot.
It's sort of a funny setup in two buildings ~ converted shipping containers ~ opposite each other. And there is only al fresco dining under big umbrellas.
Fabulous.
The staff were lovely and the service was great. Shuts a little bit early some days. Today it was 4pm.
Well recommended.

We stopped here midway through the self-guided walking tour for lunch.
There are a limited choices on the island Dash two and this was one of them. I had fish and chips which were quite good and my wife enjoyed a toasted ham and cheese wrap. The ambience is nice, particularly on a sunny afternoon, but you must fend off the seagulls who are used to picking up the scraps.

Only 8 minutes by fast ferry from Barangaroo, Darling Harbour , what a gorgeous part of Sydney with amazing views of the harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The staff are very friendly, great atmosphere, we will definitely be back the food is delicious.
The container bar that serves locally brewed beer from Byron Bay on tap is a hit!
