We found The Fountain some 2 years ago now, whilst driving through Partridge Green and out towards Ashurst. So glad we did. We regularly visit The Fountain both during the day and in the evenings, with family including children, and friends or as a couple. The garden is lovely, stocked with apple and pear trees; a pond and ducks. Inside... More

Lovely setting, good for families. Little ones will like this duck pond with the resident ducks. It has a little sand area with deckchairs. The barn has a skittle alley which is fun to play. It also has a long table with benches and chairs for functions. Food is reasonably priced and you get quite a decent portion. Good selection... More

I have been to this excellent historic pub many times over the years, owners come and go but it is consistantly good. If you are looking for great value, then this is for you and if you are a 'good' eater, you will never complain about the size of the portions. In the summer there are lovely gardens to sit... More

After a 20 minute wait for our drinks, we had to ask the waitress where they were. There was only hake on offer for the fish and the chips were soggy, unpeeled and not enough if them, served with a small smear of mushy peas and not worth the £14. The sticky toffee pudding was burnt (actually black) with a... More

Lovely place to eat lunch in the sunshine. New menu, new deck chairs and they even supply suncream. Dog friendly, children friendly. The landlord has done a great job on making this a welcoming place

I have been wanting to come here for ages and finally got the chance recently . Although the staff were friendly and helpful they seemed a bit experienced and not very knowledgeable about what the pub actually sold . Could have been a new girl on the day of my visit so I would not hold that against them .... More

The building is very quaint with lovely oak beams and a variety of rooms. Staff were very welcoming and the Trawlerman's sharing fish platter was plentiful, well cooked and very good value. The outside area is most enjoyable and there is a very pleasant boardwalk and seating area next to the duck pond . Highly recommended

Dropped in for coffee and a bar snack. Weather was a real added bonus as what a fantastic garden to sit in. Felt like we were a million miles from anywhere . Coffee was great as was the selection of ales . We ordered the jacket skins with cheese and sour cream and chilli. Oh my god they were amazing... More

Booked a table for four for my wife's birthday lunch on a Monday. Easy to find with plenty of parking to the rear. Friendly & efficient staff offered a choice of reserved tables both inside & outside, and presented us with menus including a gluten-free menu. Perhaps unfortunate that they had been very busy over the weekend and a couple... More
