We visited the restaurant recently and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the portions for the price. The shrimp was excellent and the lightly breaded portion was the best one.

We have dined at Johnson's restaurant in Door County on several occasions. It is one of the major tourist attractions in Ephraim, the restaurant with goats eating grass on the roof. Johnson's Door County Fish restaurant in west suburban Lombard is a no-frills seafood restaurant that reminds of Johnson's in Door County, where fish is fresh and almost always fried... More

We visited the restaurant today and ordered the cod fish. It was a large sandwich but not a lot of taste. We ordered hush puppies and clam strips too which were very good. Everyone else appeared to enjoy their dishes but I guess we ordered the wrong sandwich. We will visit again but order some of the other dishes.

I have had their shrimp and cod baskets. Both were cooked and seasoned well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I live close by so we always take out.

I have heard of this restaurant and past it many times so it was time to stop and have lunch. I ordered Broiled Tilapia (4oz) with broccoli and cole slaw - which I would highly recommend BUT be aware that when you ordered anything broiled it will take at least 20 to 25 minutes longer than if you ordered fried.... Broiled salmon was really tender and delicious, good steamed cauliflower and broccoli. Not sure if I was a fan of the macaroni - tasted like macaroni noodles in potato salad sauce. Hushpuppies were good. The boys seemed to find the jumbo shrimp really good but maybe a little too much batter. Environment was so so - pretty laid back feel.... More

Johnson's is a small family run restaurant. If you like deep fried fish, this is a must go to eatery. The shrimp in a skewer is broiled with a scampi like seasoning, Hush puppies are excellent!

We are probably not being fair to Johnson's as we arrived just before closing, and the broiled fish entrees were not available. The fried fish was okay but not exceptional; the cole slaw was among the best I have ever had. The restaurant is for sale as the owner is retiring.

I must have passed this place 100 times and never saw it before - it blends into the side of the street but so worth the stop. Fish was excellent and our elderly aunts ate every single bite. Its not formal, very casual - order at the counter but they deliver to the table. The sides are pre-packaged (twice baked... More

Door county atmosphere with great nostalgia. Best fried walleye and perch in the area. Truly reminiscent of the Wisconsin fish fry of ago. Service and people are a-one.
