Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Grandsons birthday breakfast was to die for, full of flavour, exceptional portion size and great quality service all round. Will be returning for more delicious flavours and definitely recommend to everyone looking to have a nice breakfast out!

A quiet stop in a country town off the the main highway offered an excellent lunch stop. We ordered two Caesar Salads and a Thai Chicken Salad along with a glass of Pinot Gris. All were excellent, with large servings of tasty food, accompanied by...friendly attentive staff. We can’t wait to return.More

In a word, sensational. Fantastic friendly service, barely wondered in to find a seat and we were met with a friendly smile followed by water and menus, made us feel like nothing was to much trouble. Gorgeous garden setting so pretty and tranquil. Great wine...list, but the menu and food were wow. So many fabulous choices we didnt get past the entrees to the mains. Every meal we saw was hugh, well presented and just a little better than your standard fare. The desert display cabinet was very tempting full of delicious delights. From the road you couldn't tell this hidden gem was here, its well worth the detour off the beaten track. This place set the standard for my weekend away.More

What a hidden gem! Forest Hill is a pretty little township off the Warrego Highway. Not where you’d expect to find such a wonderful cafe, great food, very friendly staff and lovely ambience. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

4 of us went here for lunch as it’s just up the road from Gatton. What a delight! My scallop and prawn risotto was divine. The flavour combination was perfect. The mushroom and walnut risotto was also outstanding. Boys loved their burgers also. And they...can be fussy! The device was great, the vibe was great and their are some unique gifts available. This will be a regular for us! Can’t wait to work our way through the menu!More

What a great city experience in the country. Really friendly staff, really lovely food. Was thrilled with our visit, recommend by a local. Go the Scallops and the slow cooked lamb ragu!

Five of us for lunch. Beef burger not suitable. Appeared not to be cooked properly and tasted terrible. Prawns with head tail and shell on in some sort of coating. Person had a lot of trouble sorting out the shells. A couple of other problems,...but too much to mention. On paying the waitress, the young girl was told we won't be returning. She said' that's o.k. there are plenty of people who will return.' There is no doubt that the customer is not seen as important to this business.. Have had experience there before and always said I would not go back. This time I certainly will not return and neither will my four companions. Disgusting. Just imagine how many of our friends will stay away, when we all tell them of our experience.More

I live in Canberra and recently visited friends in the area. I was delighted with the food, service and ambiance of this lovely cafe when we dropped in for breakfast one morning. My friends and I had the macadamia and garlic chedder cheese omelettes. It...was the best one I have ever eaten and they loved theirs too. Kudos to the chef and staff. Next time I visit Forest Hill I will definitely be back for more of this great food.More

And yes 4342, you will know who we are by this review. We have been to Cafe 4342 quite a few times and generally been very happy, but after our last time we will NEVER go again. The food was dreadful. We had only been...there 2 weeks earlier and our daughter ordered the same thing we had back then. The difference was chalk and cheese. We got the cheese; she got the chalk. When we told the chef we were disappointed, he was very defensive, becoming loud & obnoxious, to the point where one of the staff came to our table afterwards and apologized for his rudeness. They took 20% off our bill, but it was still $145 for 4 people. For that much money we'll buy a couple of bottles of wine, some lovely crusty bread and a couple of kilos of prawns and stay home.More

A farewell lunch to celebrate my sort-of retirement. Two rib eye steaks, medium, with mash and veg - one with mushroom sauce and one with pepper/garlic sauce. Two stuffed chicken breasts, one with salad and peppercorn/garlic sauce, the other with veg and mash and creamy...blue cheese sauce. Thanks for a delicious meal, Richard and Heather. I always love the food at your special little venue. Visitors of mine from interstate have been delighted with Cafe 4342, the menus, ambiance, and service. Our waitress was lovely, everything was perfect. Thanks!! KaeleneMore
