Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A town with a population of 968 people (2016 Aus gov census) where the Mother-in-law has just moved to. Let's go to the pub for lunch. OK, I don't think I am a food snob, but generally, country pub food shouldn't be granted food status....Also, my wife has very strict dietary requirements. Can I just say this place was more than a pleasant surprise. I sent the wife in to make sure they could deal with her requirements. She came and said yes, they can. Ok, let's do it. Their menu was very simple, it was a 3-course fixed menu, but each course had 3 options. And they were adaptable because everything is created fresh. Also, one of the Chefs is passionate about options for people with dietary requirements. Thank you, Jen, for being so passionate. All three of us went with the watermelon, feta and prawn salad. Insane quality. The mains, my wife went with the slow cooked lamb shoulder adapted to dietary requirements, the Mother-in-law went with the slow cooked shoulder off the menu, and yours truly went with the salmon. We have eaten all around the world in New York, London, thru Europe. The food was equal to anything I have eaten, anywhere in the world. The salmon was exquisite, and there were no complaints about the slow cooked shoulder. For desserts the wife had the VoVo pavlova, diary free, the Mother-in-law had the VoVo pav off the menu, and I had the Tim Tam cheesecake with Kahlua sauce. This was more than a pleasurable experience. It was gastronomy Heaven. The staff were brilliant, the food would put many City establishments to shame. The new owners have only been there 6 months, give it another 6 months and you will be booking 2 weeks in advance. It won't be a secret for too long when its only 70 minutes away from Brisbane.More

The staff were so friendly and accommodating when my family went there to eat. The staff gave us a lovely table next to a window, plus friendly courteous service is my reason for 5 stars.

Great choice of food. We stopped here on a Sunday drive. We all had the steak Sanga and chips. All said how good it was. So full won't need dinner!

Great country pub with above average meals and service. Friendly staff, good menu choices and fast service. Don and Kylie are your hosts with Ray in the kitchen. Worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

Visited friends who recently moved into the area & they took us here for lunch. Excellent food, reasonable pricing along with a great chat with the chef.

Staff were quite friendly, and the pub was rather pleasant. Not a great range of beers on tap, but does have a really nice feel about it, and the outdoor area is quite pleasant as well.

We decided to stop in for a spur of the moment lunch. It's a good country pub that sells honest, very tasty and large meals. It's no frills but is clean and has friendly staff. If you want a pretentious upmarket hotel go to Brisbane.

Not overly impressed slow service my ribs were cold. Felt a bit over priced for what was on plate. Bit disappointed can't say I would return

Daughter lives in next town and had heard this was good (local knowledge is gold sometimes). Had a mid-week meal. It was quiet, but staff very friendly & helpful. Daughter is coeliac, and chef told us she could do almost anything on the menu gluten...free - a very refreshing change to some other pubs around. I had the steak special, which was high quality and well priced - better than some other recent higher priced pub mealsMore
