Visited on a Wednesday evening early November. Have drove past many times on our visits to the Isle of White, but never called in until now and found what we were missing. They were offering a two for one menu on the evening we visited which was great value at £20 including drinks bill came to just under £25 and... More

Last visited many years ago when we had excellent sea food dishes. Visited for lunch mid week in November. Reasonable service, average pub food, certainly nothing special.

Came for dinner for 6 on Sat 26th - clearly from the reviews there are people who have had nice food and we have been there before but this time the cooking was awful; fish and chips inedible fish, steak was anemic and not rested, hake was beyond overcooked, balsamic and oil mix was clearly something that had been kept... Three of us visited the pub yesterday lunchtime and had a seriously tasty meal. We chose the fish pie and the steak & ale pie. The staff were friendly and the food arrived in good time. The meal with two drinks each (inc pints of beer and glasses of wine) came to just over £20.00 per head. Excellent value and... More

Visited this pub for dinner, 17 of us. It was a Sunday evening. The food order was taken and we all got our food without a hitch considering the amount of people we were. Bar staff were very attentive indeed. We had a three course set meal and it was £19.95 two for the price of one! The food was... More

Having read some of the recent reviews I booked with some trepidation. However no one was disappointed. Who are these negative minded reviewers? 4 adults & 2 young children sat down for a great Sunday lunch. Starters followed by Rump steak, salmon, steak pie, lamb & sausage with chips. All well cooked & very enjoyable. Ice creams for the kids. Oh!... More

Four of us visited today and were there from 12 noon until 2.35pm and only 5 other people came to the pub, no wonder, it was absolutely awful food, I had cod, chips and peas, the peas were the best part of the meal, the fish batter was greasy and slimey, disgusting food, price £12.95 ! £13 for fish and... Sunday night was quiet, radio played in background unobtrusively, the staff were welcoming and courteous. I was with my youngest daughter and we decided to have 3 courses. Prawn and crab cocktail with a side pot of Rose Marie sauce, the prawns and crab sat atop a salad of fresh leaves, tomato and slivers of red onion. It tasted fresh... More

We passed this Inn several times before going in for a meal, we noticed that dogs were welcome so decided to give it ago, the service was very good , and food was very good , I can see why they had the award for Pub of the year . Food nicely presented and plenty of it , and not... More

From reading the previous reviews about this pub I was a bit wary but I have to say that the sandwiches that we had for our light lunch were excellent. The granary bread was really fresh and the fillings tasted really good. Ok the place wasn't that busy but we really enjoyed our experience. I would certainly visit this pub... More
