Went for Sunday lunch with my elderly mother. We both went straight for the main course, a small roast chicken and normal roast beef. The food was cooked well but the portion size was ridiculous. There was so much meat and potatoes on my plate,...More

Husband and I went for lunch. Food was fabulous, both of us enjoyed our meal. Service was very relaxed, close to being slow, drinks were forgotten about. We pointed this out and staff was apologetic. Wouldn't stop me going again.

This is one of the best pubs in the country. The fillet steak was wonderful and the Dover sole is a real treat. The selection of real ales is always outstanding. The pub is always busy for a reason, because it serves high quality food....More

The food and staff are so nice here. They always go out of their way to ensure you get just what you wanted and nothing ever seems too much trouble. The Swannington Pork is one of my favourites, along with the Tempura Prawns...wow they melt...More

Why is this place so inconsistent. The bar staff asked me what I wanted to drink and I said San Miguel please a pint of. Then she went on about the chef hadn't proclaimed which meals were on the specials. Then she said you can only sit at the tables without a white ticket. 1 minute later she said what was it you wanted to drink. Then she said which table do you want. We chose one. 4 minutes later someone dropped off the grabbiest food covered menu u have ever seen and when I told her five minutes later I didn't want food based on how offended I was she said sorry disappeared and there was no effort to try and keep us interested in coming back. Sorry but utter S###e
