Delicious smoked meats:chicken, pork, beef. Wide selection of dinners, sandwiches, and sides. Homemade rolls and sauces, friendly Mom n Pop place with rustic atmosphere. Eat in or take out. They have daily lunch specials to boot. You won't be disappointed.

The yeast rolls are home made, as well as the potato salad, potato soup (in the winter), and barbeque sauce. The pork steaks are delicious and tender if you get a fresh one. If it's dried out, ask for another. It's rare but on occasion it has happened to us. The baked beans are tasty. The dine in experience is... More

Nothing fancy here, but excellent food at reasonable prices. My favorite is the pork steak, but I have enjoyed many of their other selections too.

Coworker and I wanted some St. Louis BBQ. so we decided to try this place. Big mistake! Good was horrible. Ribs tasted like ketchup on them. Cole slaw was the worst. Too cheap to even offer Coke and had some horrible off brand. We both ended up getting sick after eating there. Don't recommend this place

This place is a true gem. Vibe like a roadside stand. Owner operated. Friendly as can be. Messiest ribs I have ever eaten (that's a huge compliment!). Hesitate to rate for fear of overcrowding. Try the hot sauce.

We love stopping off at Smokepit and grabbing a quick meal. The owners are the ones taking care of your order. There is a screened in porch to eat outside without the bugs. The food is always good here..from the massive pork steak to the pulled pork. You can't go wrong with whatever you order here. The rolls are amazing... More

Made many trips here, tried everything on the menu from ribs, the 1 and 1/2 pound pork steak to the smoked turkey. Its all first rate, including home made rolls and slaw, and down home. Skip the pearls and tux and wear your bib overhauls, they are NOT for 'fine dining' but 'dining fine'. Beats all the snooty expensive BBQ... More

THere is a saying, don't judge a book by its' cover and the same holds for this restaurant. From the outside, you would think you were in the back-woods down south. My suggestion - go inside and enjoy a truly 'old school' BBQ joint. The wood burning aroma is the first appetizer for what is ahead. I had the 1/2... More

We stopped by this restaurant during a particularly awful snow storm in February since it is located so close to home. This was our first time at Smoke Pit, and I didn't know what to expect - especially during such bad weather. The owners were super friendly to us and extremely helpful in ordering off the menu. While we waited... More

We ate here because of TripAdvisor reviews; my wife and I were not disappointed. My wife enjoyed her half of a BBQ’d chicken with slaw and mac and cheese and my half rack of ribs were very good; along with BBQ beans and mac and cheese. We both do not usually enjoy heavily sauced BBQ, but we enjoyed both of... More
