Went here twice while in town! Loved the pizza. Takes a while to cook, but worth the wait. Cool ambiance, too!

This was our first trip to Chicago so we had to get a deep dish pizza. Seems like everybody had their favorite place to get a pie. We went here based on the recommendation of our tour guide. We got the made from scratch mozzarella...More

We stopped in for lunch while in town. Graffiti is everywhere (except the bathroom). The table near us was enjoying adding to the graffiti. Food was good. We had mozzarella sticks and deep dish pizza. The sticks were a good holdover while we waited for...More

We were warned about the wait time for food but I have to say it went by really fast. We opted to come for lunch around 2 pm so there wasn't a wait for a table. Our server was quick to greet us and take...More

(...And the pizza is just OK.) I have no idea why someone thought graffiti all over every square inch of a restaurant from walls to booth seats would be a cute decor. The overall effect is dirty & unappetizing. Ironically, the old-looking bathrooms upstairs have...More

Visited here for an early evening meal and were very disappointed with our waiter. He was very surly and rude and spoiled the dining experience, which is a shame, as the food was good.

Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago

neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Description
For 50 years, the original Gino’s East has been offering the best deep dish pizza experience in Chicago. Since we opened our doors in 1966, we’ve shared millions of our signature golden-crust Chicago-style pizzas with Chicagoans, celebrities, and visitors from all over the world. Don’t believe us? The writing is on the walls! We’re world-famous for our tradition of letting all of our customers leave their mark on our restaurant. Come by and leave some graffiti, if you can find a spot, and see if you can find it next year! Gino’s Chicago-style deep dish is made the same way it was 50 years ago. We start with our signature, secret-recipe dough and top it with mounds of mozzarella cheese, fresh toppings, and our tangy tomato sauce. Our pies are slowly baked in seasoned cast iron pans until the crust is golden and flaky, then we serve it table-side, piping hot, right out of the pan. Our deep dish pizzas are loaded with so many toppings that we have cook them for nearly an hour. That’s also the reason we have to put the sauce on top; if we didn’t, the cheese would burn! But trust us, it’s worth the wait. We promise. Ask the people that agree that we are the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. Not sure what to order? Try one of our signature pizzas! The Meaty Legend is a carnivore’s dream, with pounds of pepperoni, special-recipe Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, and crispy bacon. The Chicago Fire is perfect for spice-lovers, with a layer of extra spicy Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onions, and jalapeno. Not a meat eater? Try our signature spinach pizza with a blend of fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese. And for the purist, we offer our patty sausage pizza, with a thick layer of our signature sausage covering the entire pie so you get tasty sausage in every bite!
