I was just at the Drake and this restaurant is no longer open! It is still advertised even in the booklet that is left in the rooms. When we went to the lounge to ask where to find it, we were then told that ist...More

Some restaurants survive for only a few years. They simply can't keep up with the competition, especially in Chicago. But when an iconic restaurant like the Cape Cod Room in Chicago's iconic Drake Hotel closes after 83 years...well, that's a very emotional experience. My wife...More

Nothing better than to tuck into the Cape Cod Room in the Drake on a cold December evening for dinner. Try the lobster thermador; it was wonderful and reminded us of our early dating years in the 1970s. The service is excellent and most of...More

This used to be a great place.....had the best Cape Cod chowder outside the cape itself. And the seafood dishes used to be supreme. Ah, well.....it's hard to keep places going.....let's see what it gets replaced with....come Drake Hotel....you can do lots better.

a longtime chicago institution is closing later this week, While many have fond memories of eating here, the current offerings do not measure up. Nice atmosphere, just ok food.

We wanted to say Good Bye to the old world elegance and quiet sophistication of the (in)famous Cape Cod Room, which I first visited 40- years ago. We only had drinks prepared by the craft bartender, who also sadly reminisced w us about the permanent...More

The oysters rockerfeller were luke warm and my scallps were average. Maybe because they are closing their doors soon they really don't care anymore. Hope they put something exciting and delicious in it's place.

I wouldn't say our December final experience was as good as past memories. They were sold out of most reasonable bottles of wine, the bread basket is not as fresh (or warm) as before nor probably baked in-house these days, service was spotty, but nostalgia...More

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago

neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

Description
The Cape Cod, a much honored seafood restaurant, boasts of fresh seafood from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, from the lakes and freshwater streams. It has been consistently named as one of America's finest dining spots since opening in 1933. Zagat's consumer survey also picked the Cape Cod as a top hotel restaurant. It was recently inducted by Nation's Restaurant News into the Fine Dining Hall of Fame. Located on the arcade level, the cozy restaurant, established in 1933 is decked with nautical paraphernalia. Nautical themed, wooden beams, hanging copper pots and stuffed sailfish adorn the room, walls and ceiling of this immensely popular restaurant. Reservations are very strongly recommended.
