We completely enjoyed our dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. The wine was terrific and coupled with an appetizer of baked goat cheese and country liver pate was a delightful start to our meal. We each had something different--salmon, scallops, and blue cheese streak Fries. Everything...More

Wow! We have been coming to Mon Ami for 10 years, but our last couple of dinners were a bit disappointing. We actually took the time and spoke with the manager, I believe last year. This week we tried again since we had guests and...More

I was surprised that this old favorite not recently visited was packed at 6:00 PM on New Year's Eve. But given great corner table in back room and a cheerful, attentive waitress. While the menu isn't overly long, it does offer a range of Bistro...More

Visited Chicago for holiday light tours and shopping, had dinner at this establishment. Onion soup was likely best ever tasted, steaks served with Bernaise and Roquefort sauces were amazing, very tender and flavorful and cooked to perfection as ordered. Also served with excellent French fries....More

The French onion soup was sweeter than I am used to. They probably did it correctly and carmelized the onions appropriately. A great local gin (CH), excellent wine with a list that, for the most part, stays well under $100. The mussels were superb. Even...More

We returned here after a wonderful stop last year. They have great gluten-free options. However, this time, we were seated awkwardly, ignored by our server, and in general, made to feel like we didn't belong or were not wanted. The food was not good enough...More

This is one of our “go to” spots when we want a complete meal. Before your meal, you get a loaf of fresh baked French bread. We normally split a salad. My husband loves the steak and claims it’s better than most of the steak...More

A setting worthy of Paris, with attentive service, and diverse menu, fresh ingredients, lovely presentation and great taste. Save room for dessert - there are great choices and you can't make a bad selection. We were there with a large group and the service couldn't...More

Lovely, classic French bistro decor. Pleasant patio (opens 3 pm in the summer) across from Lincoln Park Zoo with decent champagne by the glass. The salmon rillette is a bit uninspired, a bland sort of shredded salmon pate/salad with toasted baguette slices. Nice staff.
