First time at a Michelin starred restaurant. I've been to several nice restaurants before but live in an area without Michelin stars. There is a difference. This place has earned that star. First, the atmosphere is great. Beautiful decorations but not overly stuffy. Really enjoyed...More

Well, what can I say. Boka definitely deserves it's Michelin Star rating. I had booked this reservation more than a week in advance, and even so we only got a late reservation (9:15PM) on Saturday evening. We were happy that unlike many restaurants in Chicago,...More

Truly deserving of its Michelin Star, this restaurant didn't disappoint in its food, service, or ambience. The staff was incredibly accommodating to dietary restrictions, whether it was an allergy or being vegetarian, and went out of their way to help and let everyone taste everything...More

Boka is located a bit outside central Chicago; in fact, it sits next door to Alinea, another top dining spot in the city. Furnished in modern style, the inside is somewhat dark, giving it a cozy ambiance. There is a full bar and a fairly...More

TO give this much-raved about restaurant the benefit of the doubt, it was Memorial Day weekend, Sunday dinner, so perhaps some regulart staff were on holiday, but we were disappointed in the long wait for service, lighting, and exorbitant prices.

Visited Boka with my husband and we both had the tasting menu. About 3 of the 7 dishes were creative and tasty, but the others were quite underwhelming. The service was OK but the waiters could have been more attentive in terms of offering more...More

We were super late for our reservation because of traffic and they were more than understanding. The tardiness affected how long we could enjoy dinner. We warned our server we were on our way to a play and he more than accommodated us. I ordered...More

Truly outstanding. Went for a nice dinner to cap-off a weekend getaway to Chicago and couldn't have asked for more. Every aspect of the experience was excellent. Food was incredible, specialty cocktails were tasty and unique and the service was impeccable. Our server (Kim) in...More

No, however it draws a substantial theater crowd so you typically see people in at least business casual. But no formal dress code.

Named one of Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Chefs 2008,” Executive Chef Giuseppe Tentori features contemporary, seasonal American food. The Michelin Dining Guide recently awarded BOKA one star and the Chicago Tribune gave three, calling it “One of the city’s best.” Chicago magazine awarded three stars as well and has called it “The hottest ticket in town.” Chef Tentori was named a rising star by both Star Chefs and Restaurant Hospitality magazine, and BOKA was awarded the 4 Diamond AAA in 2009. A great spot for wedding receptions, corporate meetings, pharmaceutical dinners and cocktail parties, the space allows for private parties in a variety of rooms both private and semi private. The restaurant was designed by Bogdanow Partners and features sweeping architectural sails and a stunning 90 seat outdoor patio.
