The restaurant itself looks slightly French. However, the food was average good and did not really remind me of the la belle France! And the desserts were particularly American in size and flavour... tasty but very rich! I must say that our waiter was excellent... sorry I cannot remember his name!

We live in France and always make a visit to Bistro Zinc when we visit Chicago. It reminds us of home, the food is good and the ambience is like a Parisian bistro.

My wife and I had dinner with my wife's cousin and her husband on May 5th at the Bistrot Zinc in Chicago. The restaurant is one that my wife's cousin really likes. We had a wonderful meal and time together. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and was full of very happy people.

Sunday brunch. Had the salmon Benny, French toast with berries and the special duck confit Benny. Everything was perfectly prepared. Wonderful service for the start of our Chicago gastro-tour!

I had been here a number of years ago and was satisfied due to an authentic french feel. Simple and authentic. Now when I found out that this place was part of restaurant week, I quickly made reservations on opentable. The menu and pricing was great. I tried some french dishes for the first time. The waiter was very professional,... More

We went here for lunch and had a delightful experience. My friend ordered the americano and said it was expertly made. We ordered the Salade Lyonnaise, french onion soup and the croque monsieur. Everything was wonderful. For dessert we ordered a cherry custard turnover with creme anglaise and caramel (I know, it tastes as good as that sounds!)and my companion... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighbourhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
