Not good . Spent too much but the food and wine pairings were not good. The wines from all over the world seemed cheap and the food was Not good.

Spaiggia offers elegant decor and a beautiful view of Michigan Ave., but that's where the accolades stop. The portions were tiny and mediocre in taste. The appetizer both my husband and I chose was nothing more than a handful of greens over some sort of squash and was ridiculously priced at $18.00. My bass entree (shoved into the corner of... More
On 06/25/2016 my family and I went to Spiaggia restaurant at 980 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60611, to celebrate my birthday! I picked this restaurants because in 2009 my party and I had a wonderful New Years dinner and we had a wonderful experience. On this occasion, we traveled all the way from Nebraska to spend a few days... More
My husband and I weren't feeling that hungry when we visited so decided to opt for a few dishes from the bar menu. We ordered a glass of rosé each and vongole to start followed by a panna cotta with crispy parsnips for dessert - all were lovely. The barman - who also acted as our waiter - was very... More
Friends and I took my daughter here for her birthday. She loves food and wine, and when we travel we like to try Michelin restaurants as well as well-reviewed local restaurants in an attempt to get a "feel" for the dining options in the city. Several reasons why we felt this restaurant fell short of it's reputation, and not all... More
Great fine dining Italian place with a beautiful view of the Lake and Michigan avenue. The gnocchi are excellent and the best I have had anywhere. The service is absolutely great. Very luxurious surroundings and great location.
We planned dinner here for view of lake and reputation but forgot it would be dark due to seating clock back for daylight savings. Nevertheless the wait service was exceptional including sommelier. They guided us through the menu and wine list for a perfect dinner and an introduction to white truffles. Definitely worth a visit if in Chicago but is... More
Beautiful restaurant full of light during a day. The staff very professional, great bar to sit when waiting for a dinner table. Food was great and there is nothing negative to mention!
Amazing food, amazing service and a buzzing atmosphere. I was here a few days after Michelin awarded 2016 stars...this place is superior to other 1 Star restaurants I have been in. I asked for a special table to celebrate with my other half, they gave us thebest table in the house despite us never having dined there before.
The overall experience at Spiaggia was a disaster. It truly was horrible. I wouldn't be saying it was horrible if the food they served was served at a diner, but this michelin star restaurant was well below expectations. In fact, it kind of made us lose faith in the Michelin Star guide system. For the first course, I ordered their... More
