Lunch with my daughter today and we were not disappointed. Chicken pesto sandwich and side salad were delicious as was my tuna wrap. My daughter stated her Latte was the best she ever had. For dessert we shared a slice of Mocha buttercream torte which was light an flavorful however it was the last of two slices and was a... More

Casual, cozy, family-friendly restaurant with a consistent menu and an extraordinary assortment of baked goods. The tres leches cake is a real treat! Food and service are consistent, but the bakery is the star of the show. Worth the trip if you have a sweet tooth! Note that this restaurant does not take reservations. I usually visit at off-peak times... More

Stopped in for a hot chocolate an a windy, cold Sunday afternoon. We we served the best hot chocolate I've ever had. A generous cup topped off with a thick layer of heavy whipped cream that you could almost cut with a knife. This is not a drink for the faint-hearted with an aversion to sweets. Calories be damned. Order... More

Café Selmarie has been a regular go-to of mine for many years. On Saturday, I stopped in for a delicious cup of coffee and a fig custard - featuring fresh figs! I loved sitting outside even in October. The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, stopped in and ordered take out for the exciting first Cubs game in the World Series,... More

We stopped at this little cafe for breakfast prior to sightseeing downtown. We ate on the patio, as it was a beautiful morning. Delicious quiche and great service. Also has a great bakery section with lots of goodies! Located in the Lincoln Square area - a variety of cute shops and restaurants!

My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious brunch at Cafe Selmarie. It was a very busy Sunday brunch time, but our service was excellent. The food was exceptional, especially the cinnamon roll and my omelet. The only detraction was the incredible noise level, with concrete floors and high ceilings, the many shrieking children made conversation almost impossible. We would have... More

We were taken here by people we had just met and it was a very good choice. The menu had a wide variety, it was quiet and restful on a busy Saturday night in Lincoln Square. Very civilized.

Skip this place. They discriminate against handicapped and elderly. Skip over customers on wait list, then when called on it, do not apologize but shrug it off. Very limited menu, poor service. Other Lincoln Square restaurants in the immediate area are MUCH, MUCH better I. E, Jerry's, Greek Taverna, Chicago Brauhaus, Gene's, etc.

A very fine dining establishment and bakery in a lively Chicago neighborhood. Many interesting items on the menu - - I would call the fare "European-American fusion". I ordered a spicy shrimp scampi dish which was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife ordered a chicken pot pie that was also excellent - - served with a puffy philo dough bread.... More
