I have to admit I learned about this place on WGN radio. The afternoon crew 3 to 7pm talk about this bistro all the time. So while in Chicago for work on Saturday Feb 25 I decided to give this place a shot. I was having dinner with my niece and her husband (both always up for a new culinary... More

We went on a Sunday since they have roasted pig or lamb. They were both very savory. Portions are large. Very fresh calamary, not rubbery at all, lightly breaded. Village salad was Mediterranean style with balsamic vinegar and feta cheese. I had the white sangria, very fruity and refeshing. For dessert we had a torte and it was just perfect,... More

My Romanian heritage friend insisted that I try this restaurant. The first impression was it appears modest but then you walk into the dining room and WOW, so sweet. Comfortable lighting, stainglass windows, beautifully set tables and spotless. The waitress was attentive and receptive to many questions. The food was so, so flavorful. I had the Meatball soup which was... More

As a Romanian person I can attest that many of the dishes here are authentic. If in doubt what to order, try the eggplant spread, mititei and stuffed cabbage rolls. The owner's presence made the dinner all the more entertaining. I wish they had some papanasi, but dinner was good even without this.

Went here after work with some friends for a birthday party. The outdoor seating is great during the summertime. The restaurant owner took very good care of us and all the staff were very pleasant. The Romanian food was absolutely delicious. Also, for the drinkers out there - Palinca.

I was reminded of my mother's cooking. My wife and I shared a meal of old-time favorites like mititei, sarmale, mamaliga, ceafa de porc, etc. All were perfectly cooked and the service was impeccable. The wait staff as well as the owner, Branko, were friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

Our goal is to make you feel just like at home, so there is no bigger praise than to be compared with 'mother's cooking'. Thank you for your awesome review. More

The pig roast was excellent, and the crispiness of the pork fat reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. The crepes were delicious and the holy water was a pleasant surprise. We're going to come back soon.

We've served couple of generations since we first started the restaurant. There is no bigger joy than to see families come visit again and again along the years. Each one of you is a wonderful blessing for us. Thank you for your kind words. More

To Mr. Branko and his entire staff - Thank you. Was recently there for the highlight of a cousins' reunion and it was so much more than we expected. Our grandparents were from Romania and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place to celebrate them. The food was amazing and the staff was gracious and accomadating. Don't miss this... More

We visited Little Bucharest Bistro last weekend where we not only had an outstanding dinner but an amazing experience. If you go, please be ready for a true European dining experience, i.e. very unrushed and friendly. Not at all like so many "eat & get out" places. The wait staff was outstanding & very informative. The food was excellent and... More

I keep looking for a way to say that, if you had a wonderful dining experience, I also had the time of my life. I truly enjoy having customers like yourself in my restaurant and you are the reason why I stayed in the business for over 35 years. Long story short, hurry back here. Noroc!! More

With a history spanning over three decades, Little Bucharest Bistro has a new face in Chicago's Old Irving Park area. Originally opened in 1970 and closed in 2004, the new Little Bucharest, which translates to "Little Paris of the East", blends a touch of Eastern European heritage with American contemporary fare in a vibrant and modern atmosphere."I wanted to bring the signature high-energy vibe of the old Little Bucharest into a new setting," says restaurateur Branko Podrumedic. "The bistro will present Eastern European flavors in an approachable way to appeal to a more diverse yet discriminate audience." Little Bucharest is a must stop on any visit to Chicago.
