Ate here on a whim, seemed like a large menu, but there wasn't too much special about this place. Enjoyed the Sweetwater beer options, waitstaff was mediocre at best. About an hour after eating, did not feel very well... can't pin point that is was this place but didn't eat anywhere else?

my wife and i wanted simple food. we went in for burgers, fries and beer. The burgers were quite good with grilled mushrooms and onions, lettuce, tomato, red onion and other fixings. the fries were fresh cut. service was good. we sat at the high top table that was quite comfy.

This restaurant was just around the corner from our hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff and our waitress was attentive. The food was tasty and the dessert was a must. Could not fault the restaurant and will definitely return.

I had high hopes for trying different food in Chicago. Then it got cold. Then it got colder. Then it snowed. Sweetwater was right across from our hotel. We had lunch there one day. The service was great and the burgers were exactly what you expect from the Midwest. If their buns are not made in-house, they are sourced locally.... More

We stopped here in the evening on March 11 for a drink. I asked for a Cosmo. The bartender said sure, turned away and a moment later turned back and said "We can't make that" - no explanation as to why not (I didn't press for a reason), so I said Ok, I'll have a Bailey's, no ice. She poured... More

We found this place online as it was close to the hotel where we were staying. We ate lunch here on Friday, and also came back on Saturday morning for their St. Patrick’s festivities. For lunch we had the bang bang shrimp and fish tacos, as well as the tater tots. The food was good and prices were reasonable. They... More

We had a brusque reception from a clearly agitated hostess. She also yelled at us when we tried to exit the normal door, telling us to go through the revolving door due to the cold. We were visiting from a much warmer climate and simply did not know this or the yelling were customary. Regardless, our last visit.

I was with co-workers and we ate at a high table in the bar. The service was okay but the noise level of the music was very loud and never could catch the waiter at the right time to ask that it be turned down. We shared cheese curds, calamari and bang bang shrimp. Of the three appetizers, the bang... More

It was 1115am on a Saturday morning. It was not busy. We ordered regular breakfast food. Food was okay (not great) and our waitperson never came back until she brought us our bill. We had asked for hot sauce when the food was delivered but that never appeared. We have been here on multiple occasions and had never been this... More

Always stop in Sweetwater when in Chicago. They have an awesome Beer selection and staff is always helpful in selecting a drink that fits your style. Love the atmosphere too!
