We were referred here by out hotel concierge and it was very good. A little old school, but the food was delightful. The presentation was outstanding, and each meal looked like a work of art, slowing ever so slightly the consumption of the same..... We...More

The Mercat a la planxa restaurant has been at this location for nearly 9 yrs and we finally put aside some time to visit a cafe only a mile from us! The restaurant, located inside the Blackstone hotel on Chicago's South Loop, is modern contemporary styled,...More

Great tapas restaurant but so so loud! We had a round table of 9 and besides for the people right beside us, we could not hear anybody else at the table. Service and food were good and fast and wine good.

We found the Mercat when looking for a restaurant that could accommodate gluten-free diners and what a win this is! The space is uber cool inside. It feels like ‘where the cool kids dine’ but is not pretentious at all. The tapas are authentic and...More

The food was quite good. Many of the entrees were interesting, and there were basic options as well. They allowed our large party to comfortably take over a table for a while as we caught up.
