I've been wanting to try Intelligentsia coffee for quite some time. The barista was really friendly and knowledgeable. I explained I really wanted to try the coffee and experience the taste and she recommended a cappuccino. It did not disappoint other than not wanting it to end. I also bought coffee beans to bring home. Hip and roomy atmosphere and... More

I almost didn't go in with the No Trespassing sign, But I am glad I did. The young lady that runs the place is very sweet and makes an amazing cup of coffee. I went back several times and it was very consistently good. Maybe should get a Customers Only sign out front, but don't pass this up if you... More

Finally, a place that knows how to make a mocha! Not too sweet, you can taste the coffee, and just plain goodness. Two Portlanders (gourmet coffee city) give you the stamp of approval. Good work!

I ordered coffee here several mornings throughout my stay in Chicago, and not once was I disappointed! One of my favourite blends was the Brazilian coffee and also Ethiopian. The shops proposes a variety of specialised coffees which alternates on a daily basis. I recommend to all coffee lovers! There are several Intelligentsia cafés situated around the US but I... More

Very happy this was a 5 minute walk from my hotel. Popped in every morning for an amazingly smooth and robust Americano. This is a serious coffee-focused joint, so don't expect a wide range of eats (small selection of very nice baked goods...mostly croissants and scones). Staff were very friendly and clearly coffee aficionados. Some seating at the counter, the... More

Wife and my favorite place to enjoy an excellent cup of coffee! A must stop if you are in the area. We always get the pour over and worth the wait. We've tried several pastries and enjoyed everyone of them. The tart is one of our favorites. Last visit we decide to also try the hot chocolate and wasn't disappointed.... More

This is a super hipster place, and I've been to quite a few of those. I don't consider myself hipster, but I enjoy trying out all the good things can be found in such environment. The coffee was good, but I've had better, and the atmosphere a little stiff. I prefer something a little more welcoming. Just not my thing,... More

This coffee shop was nice I got a hot mocha and a peanut butter cookie. The mocha really hit the spot on a cold day! The heart shaped design on the mocha was so cute. The cookie was pretty good too!

If coffee really matters to you, Intelligencia is the place to go. A small but carefully curated array of coffees to choose from and a very knowledgeable staff that was all help and no coffee snob attitude. I walked 20 minutes out of my way every day I was in Chicago to go to this place and it was well... More

There are lots of choices these days when it comes to getting a cup of coffee. But if you are a true connoisseur and you appreciate the craft of roasting & pouring, this is the place for you. Every staff member is well prepared to speak on their product and they are very helpful in answering any questions.
