Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

MacIver Estate was a delightful experience. The wine was fantastic, especially the soft cheese paired with it. The diverse cake selection and coffee were a pleasant surprise. Oh, and the views? Absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend it!

We purchased wines from McIvor Estate which when they arrived were well past their use by date (certain wines have a drinkability time frame). All of the purchase was totally undrinkable. We have been trying to get our money back since September. Dont buy from...this winery, they sell old stock knowingly. Happy to take your money but no recourse if there is a problem.More

The hosts were prepared to open during the week for a private booking. The setting was great - under cover in front of the Cellar Door. The food - antipasto, salad, pizzas and sweets - was delicious and served at a leisurely pace. The wines...were also very nice and a number of purchases were made. Beer isn't available, but they can request a licence for your occasion at additional cost. The hosts - Cynthia and Gary - were generous with the food and their time. A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.More

Cynthia took care of us for the whole wine tour. She was lovely, friendly and fabulous. You know you are being looked after very well when the host calls you by name and has a genuine conversation with you. For someone who doesn’t drink wine,...she taught me what to pair it with etc and can gladly say the wine she suggested I try, I actually liked and bought. The wines they make are delicious! Would definitely recommend to pop over to McIvor Estate as your wine tasting experience will be accompanied by a knowledgeable, funny and kind host! Will definitely come back to taste their food as it was Good Friday and food service was not available for the day.More

I cant remember the lovely ladies name who looked after us, but she was friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable . They have several Italian grape varieties such as Barbera, Sangiovese etc, and we felt the quality and price of the wines was very good. Working our...way through the case we picked up that day!More

We dropped in for a wine tasting when in the Heathcote area one day in October. Shame we don't live nearby as the wines were excellent. My particular favourite was the 2015 Marsanne Viognier Roussanne The landscape is very different, with gentle hills strewn with...large granite boulders and outcrops We'll definitely pop in again when next in VictoriaMore

From the moment you drive down the driveway of McIvor Estate you feel the warmth, beauty and generous hospitality that this beautiful winery and its operators delivers. Having visited many of the events on offer and lazy Sunday afternoons it is always consistently a pleasure...to enjoy some time there. Possibly some the most exciting wines in the region and and exceptional Olive Oil. A must do if you are heading up the the Heathcote Wine Region. Salute!More

We booked in for the Cup weekend Sunday lunch. Our greeting was very friendly in this intimate setting with superb views over the granite hills. We enjoyed a tasting of some beautiful wines with their own complimentary olives, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Lunch consisted...of a choice of wood fired pizza with salad and a glass of wine - very good value and quite delicious. We were treated to live music from a very talented young lady, which contributed to the perfect luncheon stopover. Thankyou. We will be back.More

Gary and Cynthia ( Cinzia) Harbor are the hosts at Mc Ivor Estate. Go there for: fabulous wines, picturesque cellar door, olive grove, vineyard , delicious Sardinian inspired antipasti. If you are lucky they will have cranked up the wood fired oven and have a...special lunch on the go. check out the website for more details, but I can't think of a nicer way to while away a few lazy hours than tasting the line up of their wines while looking over the Harbors Italian inspired mixed estate.. my especial favourites are their Italian varieties.More

We dropped in on a lovely Sunday drive. The lady who helped us was charming and friendly. Whilst we didn't stay for food and I don't drink the atmosphere was something that would get us in the car for another visit.

The setting is ideal and the hosts, food and of course the wine all combined to make the luncheon memorable. This is my second visit, and certainly not my last , to this winery. Snuggled amongst the rolling mountains this winery makes outstanding olive oils...and enjoyable wines. It was the local Heathcote celebrations and the small restaurant was bursting with people. However our waitress was outstanding and the service was unique in the way we seemed to be the only diners.! We knew the menu was for pizza but we were pleasantly surprised to have a three course meal plus coffee and wine for $45. I left clutching two bottles of their Cabernet Sauvignon and two bottles of oils but more important having feeling well satisfied with my lunch and the whole experience . I heartedly recommend a visit.More
