I ate here twice in June and had the shrimp basket both times. It was very good. Only negative for me was they only have Pepsi products and not Coca Cola.

A fun place with characteristic north Idaho ambience. Service was great, even though the restaurant was very very busy. Also, the owner walked around greeting the diners... very friendly. We felt very welcomed. While I will definitely return because I enjoy places like this, the...More

Heard this place was a place to stop for dinner. Very rustic and comfortable and welcoming. This is a lodge type setting and small and quaint. The service was good and everyone loved their choices. I had salmon tacos and my friend a massive burger.

The Snake Pit, built in 1880, is Idaho's oldest restaurant. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week all year long. Our ribs, pork, brisket and salmon are all smoked in-house, and we are notorious for the best Rocky Mountain Oysters in the area. The historic building is full of memorabilia from the last century of mining and logging. Finish this all off with house-baked pie or wild Idaho huckleberry ice cream and you have a perfect day. We are on the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River in an ideal spot for fly-fishing, bicycling, hunting, floating and camping.
