It's the only place which provides food in a 30 min walk radius! Service was really, really friendly and we all took different salads which were all good. I wanted beer but settled for wine. Sorry Heineken does not qualify as beer in my book. The local white wine was good. As for desserts, sorry but a small place like... More

After a long walk today we headed to the restaurant expecting hearty rural food as per reviews on trip advisor. The setting was magnificent, as was listening to the constant ringing of cow bells throughout our meal. I had the mushroom tart which was small and had little flavour. It was accompanied by a salad of lettuce leaves and sundried... More

I've been there twice in the last 2 weeks. The first time I was knocked out by the Souris d'Agneau and I when I had it again it confirmed a fact - the best I have ever tasted!

After 13 times visiting Annecy, I'd never thought about going here for food but although the drive up can leave you doubting your navigation the destination is simply epic. Super friendly staff with perfect English in the most stunning setting in the Alps. Then the food. Simple but so well cooked and the steak is probably the freshest and most... More

We stayed in Annecy, the day before we had to fly out of Geneva, back to US. This was our last meal in France to cap our amazing vacation. And what an end it was! The drive in itself out of Annecy, is a highlight in itself. You literally drive till you hit a mountain. And then at the end... More

I've been lucky enough to go to a wide variety of restaurants, ranging from fantastic dives to exquisite establishments featuring haute cuisine, and Pre-Verel is one of my favorites. I've only been in summer, but whether it was storming spectacularly or sunny and bright, the cozy, rustic atmosphere delighted all of us. The food is sort of rustic French, but... More

Well worth the drive there, and even the drive home in the lashing rain! This very friendly, warm and rustic restaurant produces wonderful food at very reasonable prices. All six of us had the starter of pate and a delectable mushroom concoction followed by the cote de boeuf with a green salad and potatoes that were my downfall! The Aberdeen... More

The Refuge de Pre Verel is a destination in itself. We had such a wonderful dinner soon after they opened for the season that we came back the following week, and both meals were delightful. Evan's specialty is an amazing perfectly aged Angus steak for two, cooked on an open fire in the dining room. He does lovely vegetarian options... More
