I like this old store. The setting is lovely. The store has a nice variety of merchandise. This entire area (Sautee Nacoochee) was so nostalgic and peaceful. It was a great getaway from city life. The staff of the store was so friendly.

The bread is fresh baked taking a club sandwich over the top and making me want to go back for seconds! I would visit Helen, GA just to go back to the Old Sautee Store Market & Deli.

The exterior of the shop alone makes you want to stop, but the interior was a wonderful surprise. The front room is essentially a fascinating museum of a general store at the turn of the last century, and it even includes a working nickelodeon (well...More

Thanks for the praises on the chicken salad. It's our top seller, and we have become sort of know for it. Glad you enjoyed it. Also, you didn't mention the great price of only $4.99, (so I will). Thanks so much. Hope to see you...More

Nostalgia!!! It will bring you back, way back when you enter. The antiquities, the wooden floor, rock fireplace (it's always lit on chilly days). But when you enter the up to date for and see the penny candy, Greenstone Soaps, fabulous jewelry, Columbia clothing, shoes,...More

We stopped here while sightseeing. The food was great and was ready pretty fast. Small menu selection of sandwiches and daily soups.

The old sautee store is a unique old fashioned establishment. The outside and the entrance have been preserved in the manner of the 1930s. It is authentic and very interesting. Inside there are a variety of treats, the most wonderful is the Swiss cheese and...More

I had a pimento cheese sandwich and the roasted red pepper and gouda soup. It rates up there with possibly obe of the best lunches that I have ever had.

The Frieds have not owned the store since around 2000. Unfortunately they both passed away many years ago. Galen and Jean Greene have owned the store since 2003.
