The Sea Island area is not known for fine dining, and what is good here wouldn't be rated as highly in a city such as Atlanta , Savannah or even Jacksonville. Nonetheless, Blackwater is a place worth visiting. The menu is thoughtful, the seafood is fresh and well prepared, as it should be in this part of the world, and... More

The decor is funky! The staff is so pleasant and friendly! They made us feel really welcome! The service was great! The food is so good and they have so much to choose from on the menu! We love Cajun food and if you do too, as well as some delicious low country cooking, you need to pay a visit... More

Recently had dinner again at BG and it was worth the visit. Swordfish was the catch of the day, and it was definitely fresh, well-prepared and moderately priced. Staff is always pleasant and the atmosphere is relaxed. Glad to see Evan back on the staff, hope he will start posting on the store's FB page again.

My wife and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and great food! The shrimp and grits are amazing! Additionally, the tomatoes and okra are the best I have ever tasted. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Gotta give this place a try. My wife had Tybee Shrimp with red beans and rice while I had Jambalaya. Both are excellent options. I was warned the Jambalaya was spicy, and they were not lying. It's not for the weak but it's worth it. Also the food quantities are larger than average, be prepared to bring some home with... More

We were in town for a business meeting when one of us suggested this place for dinner. We had heard good things about it from a few other colleagues and were willing to give it a try. Wish we hadn't. First, the only good thing was the friendliness of the service. Our server and everyone at the restaurant were super... More

OMG. Definitely did NOT expect to be eating some of the absolute best Cajun food when I visited St Simon's Island, GA! But here it is. My visit to Blackwater Grill began with a lovely Russian River Pinot Noir. I couldn't resist sampling Blackwater's award winning Brunswick Stew which lived up to it's reputation. Then, despite my proximity to some... More

We had a very nice dinner at Blackwater Grill. Very nice atmosphere, decent service (albeit a tad rushed), and great food. The crab bisque was delicious and the jambalaya and crawfish etoufee were outstanding. Good selection of draft beers. If you like cajun cuisine, give the Blackwater Grill a shot.

Love this place. Ate here twice this trip. The Brunswick stew, cornbread, and Cajun slaw appetizer is fantastic! We thought their Cajun seafood pasta was very good and I loved their trout dish. I discovered the half portion dinners on the second trip- on back of menu. That way we could try more appetizers...

Stopped in for some low country boil and left disappointed. Restaurant was not dirty, but it certainly was not clean either. Low country boil consisted of 6 overdone shrimp, 3 new potatoes, 2 pieces of corn on the cob, and 4 pieces of cheap sausage. All of it was very bland, no spice at all. Service was good. Not going...
