Waited almost two hours for entrees. Waitress, Joyce, inattentive and unapologetic for horrible service. Stay away if you can

The first time I visited this restaurant, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and I loved it. Every time that I go, I get Shrimp and Grits. I'm sure other dishes are equally as good but I just can't stop ordering Shrimp and Grits.

We asked for a dinner recommendation at the local Hampton Inn. "Just go out the back door of the hotel, across the parking lot, and look for Catch 228. Best place on the island." While I can't say I've eaten at every place on St. Simons, I can say this was very good. Our dinner companions decided to partake of... More

As locals, this is our go to for local, fresh seafood. Blackened Combo Platter is our favorite. Grouper sandwich is also great. Good sides, especially grilled veggies. Severs always attentive. Paper tablecloths for the kids (and adults) to draw on. Can be a little loud, particularly during football season, but that's half the reason we eat there. Outside dining available.

You can make a great meal off of appetizers here. Conch fritters, peel and eat shrimp, fish and chips - fantastic as is the whole flounder and other specials. Many cold beers on tap and by the bottle. As local as it gets. Just please, the oysters are good but need respect! They sometimes come in a pan with a... More

Catch 228 was recommend to us by several locals, so of course we had to try it. Boy are we glad we did. We arrived during Happy Hour and sat at the bar. The owner immediately greeted and served us, and made us feel perfectly at home. We ordered the clam strips, calamari, and fresh oyster appetizers. All of them... More

The blue crab soup was excellent, so was the calimari. The shrimp po boy was just ok (shrimp was good but didn't care for the bread). Oysters were fresh and sweet and 75 cents each but only during happy hour. Drinks were expensive unless you are there during happy hour.

Ordered crab cakes from the "Sharing Menu" and was delighted with the ample serving and the yummy red pepper aioli sauce.

Whenever we stopped by we found the food fresh and well prepared and the staff friendly and helpful. Janie was especially helpful in explaining some of the southern dishes we from the north are not familiar with.

Went there last night for my birthday dinner craving oysters and shrimp. Service was fine, but food and drink below SSI and Redfern Village standards. First - drinks: My wife ordered a Margarita and I, a Bloody Mary. She said hers was OK, nothing special. Mine was a bland concoction with no salt rim, no spices, and not even a... More
