My most favourite restaurant…. We visit as often as we can and are slowly trying everything on the menu. The staff are very allergy aware and the chef is happy to substitute ingredients and the food is still perfection.

This restaurant was an absolutely fabulous find tucked away in Lemon Tree Passage. From the over water setting to the incredible wait staff we had the most enjoyable experience. The food was amazingly innovative and cooked and presented impeccably. On the day we attended I...had the shared 1kg lobster special which was next level. I would love to live closer to make this restaurant a regular experience.More
Our second visit to this wonderful restaurant and it was just as impressive as our first dining experience ! Each dish was delicious and the service, friendly and attentive .
I was so impressed with the generosity of the staff in making me a delicious 3 course vegan meal. I picked different elements from different dishes for entree and dessert and the chef came up with a fabulous dish for mains. It was a wonderful...experience that I can’t rate highly enough.More
Really good food and friendly staff. We booked The Poyer's because it was close to our AirBnB and were surprised by the quality of the food. The homemade gnocchi is spectacular and melts in your mouth. The fish was very fresh and the banoffee for...dessert was a great ending to the meal. We highly recommend The The Poyer’s! We also saw some dolphins swimming in the bay during our dinner which was lovely!More
Friendly professional service, interesting seafood menu, delicious fresh food, great presentation AND you are on the shores of beautiful Port Stephens.
What a GEM, this restaurant is simply amazing. Greeted by the staff as if we eat there every day. The menu and specials explained in expert detail and the menu was simply amazing, not one dish you didn’t want to have. In fact, the menu...was so good I could have moved in and just gone through the entire menu. Amazing staff and owners, and amazing food. Have eaten all over the world and this would arguably be one of the best dining experiences my partner and I have had in a very very long time. We wish we live in Lemon Tree Passage rather than South Australia so we could go to The Poyers every weekend!!More
We had never been to this gem of a restaurant before. We booked in based on the fascinating menu we discovered on the internet, and the waterfront location. If anything The Poyers exceeded our already high expectations. Every course and every wine choice was superb....Joy our waitress was a true joy and provided excellent recommendations, then served us with great attention to detail. Ludovic our chef came out to talk to us at the end of the meal and we compared notes on Australian and French cuisine. All together one of the most memorable meals we have had for years. Six stars.More
Spectacular lunch today to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Perfect weather to sit in this lovely restaurant looking out at the boats and beautiful waterways. The food, where does one begin. The most delicious plump Oysters in a creamy parmesan and truffle sauce, divine. We...chose entree sized meals to captivate all the delicious flavours. The Venison Caparccio, delicious, the Lobster Ravioli, fine and flavoursome with a perfect sauce. The local Deep Sea Hermit Crab on a chilli lime risotto..a true delight and a Crispy Duck Parcel with a medley of vegetables, amazing. We loved every mouthful and dessert equally as delicious with a Creme Brulee and Affogato. We thank Mandy and Ludwig Poyer for their input, so thoughtful with their advice and Joy who served us with a beautiful smile made our day complete. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and we thank them for making our Anniversary one we will never forget.More
What a beautiful lunch. Such a great selection of fresh seafood. Service was so great. Location perfect. Highly recommended.
Today we visited Poyers for lunch to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. It was hands down one of the most exemplary dining experiences we have had in recent years. From the sunny greeting of our beautiful waitress Joy to perusing a menu that promised fresh seafood...- that looked innovative and not just ''the usual suspects'' - while gazing out over the water in the relaxed setting. We chose the shared 4 course Eastern Rock Lobster degustation for 2. My husband opted to start with a beer and I enjoyed a classic Margarita that was made... perfectly! Course 1 was lobster leg meat with pickled cucumber & mayonnaise. My first mouthful transported me to somewhere in the Middle East. Nothing like intriguing the taste buds from the outset! :) Being wine lovers we were impressed by the diversity the wine list. Also Mandy's passion for wine had us at hello! :) We opted for a Allandale Pinot Gris. Course 2 was Lobster tail ceviche with ginger, shallot, chilli, pomegranate dressing and garlic chips. The presentation was so visually appealing my husband (who normally won't touch anything raw) decided to take the plunge and sample it. This is a huge acknowledgement to the power of the dining experience! Course 3 won as our our favourite. Butter poached Lobster tail with pilaf rice, fennel, spinach & white wine sauce. We teamed it up with a wonderful 2021 Hart & Hunter 26 Rows Chardonnay. The desserts were absolutely lovely. Owners Mandy & Ludwig are delightful and their passion for food and wine was present in every element of our meal. If you are yearning for beautiful, fresh locally sourced food cooked to make your taste buds sing, visit Poyers. In a nutshell, cést Magnifique!! Well worth a trip to the coast. Many thanks for a wonderful Anniversary lunch - we will be back.More
This was our first visit to Poyers and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Staff, service and food were excellent. We will definitely be back. They are really gluten and dairy free friendly. Loved everything. We’ve just come back from New Caledonia and the chef at Poyers...would out perform any of the chefs where we ate in New Caledonia. Thanks for a great experience.More
Hands down the best restaurant in the Port Stephens area. Fantastic food - good wine list - friendly & attentive staff & a beautiful setting. It's just consistently very good.
This is an excellent French inspired restaurant. We have just returned from three weeks in France and wanted to remember our holiday. The tarte tartin was better than any we had in France. Staff are wonderful and very accomodating of preferences and allergies. We will...definitely be back.More
Poyers staff are very friendly and welcoming. The service is top notch. The food is superb accompanied by a very good wine list. A lovely location for lunch or a romantic or special family dinner. Something for everyone on the menu. I highly recommend. Not...too many restaurants in Port Stephen’s like this!More
