Was looking for home cooking. It wasn’t. It was canned and wasn’t even as good as Cracker Barrel. Location was beautiful and staff was nice.

In general this is a "Family style" restaurant for service if your group isn't a large party but you may be able to get a table by yourself. Regardless you will be treated to wonderful and great food, with wide and fantastic variety of vegetables,...More

Dahlonega, GA is a delightful small town about 65 miles Northeast of Atlanta with tons of history and the the campus of University of North Georgia. After walking around the town square you should head to The Smith House for a meal. And, it's not...More

When we first came here to eat, it was a little uncomfortable because we were sat with others at the same table and passed are the plates of food to share, but it grows on you and food is good. Nice experience.

Family style with awesome food. Fried Chicken is awesome and sides that never run out. The host will continue to come around and refill all food items. And fresh dessert.

If you have never been to Dahlonega I would skip looking for a restaurant and just eat here. The meal seems endless and it's so good. My favorite was the ham and collard greens.

The reason for my rating of 3 is based mainly on service, atmosphere and hospitality of staff, not the meal itself. I have waited years to go to the famous Smith House and finally took out of state family there for an expected great meal....More

The Smith House is still supplying the great food it did when I was in Dahlonega 45 years ago. Very clean and just so nice- really enjoyed taking my grandchildren to a place I enjoyed while at Brenau Highly recommend

No, there is not a pool. I wouldn't call the Smith House a resort. It is part of the history of Dahlonega. Located right off the downtown square.

Famous for our all-you-can eat family style meals. Country vegetable and fried chicken is everyone's favorite. Stay in our historic inn and visit our historic town square of Dahlonega where the first Gold Rush was located. The Smith House is locked one block from the square.
