I picked this place for the name only, when we found ourselves in Tarpon Springs while exploring the western coast. It turned out to be a good choice for an early lunch. We were seated outside, next to the shrimp boat owned by the restaurant. The menu favors seafood, but there are other options as well. I had an excellent... More

We ate at the Tiki Bar because the restaurant line was just too long. We met locals here. If the locals eat here, you know it's the best. Stone Crab Claws were to die for. Happy hour drinks at the bar were $4. How can you beat that? Live music too. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to linger but did... More

Let's start with dessert. If you come to this place and you don't get the key lime pie you are missing out on the best that was ever served!! Perfection on a plate! For entrees, I ordered the fried shrimp and my wife ordered the fish tacos. We both agreed that this was the best seafood we have eaten in... More

We were just there for dinner 3/20/17 and the food was excellant. Largely a seafood menu but there are a couple of items such as a chicken sandwich for someone who doesnt like seafood. Very reasonably priced as well. Also have a kids menu. A pound and a half of alaskan snow crab legs for $22 is not bad at... More

Mahi fish was great, atmosphere is amazing, service was so-so. Manager addressed issue and offered minimal discount on bill. Salt & pepper shakers were slimy. Don't sit outside at end, sewer smell.

Our retirement community dining group enjoyed a delicious meal the other night. We were 39 seniors hungry for seafood and all left happy. Jacquelyn and Kelly tracked our reservation and had everything smoothly organized. Our wait staff, Amanda and Ty were outstanding; friendly, efficient and and oh,so energetic. Overall, a great experience with many positive comments and plans to return... More

Yes there will be a wait but it will be worth it! Wait for the patio if you want the full experience. Our table had peel and eat shrimp, grouper and the shrimp alfredo. All of the seafood was outstanding. Do NOT miss the hush puppies.

I love a grouper sandwich and to be honest I usually go to Frenchys. But we were in Tarpon Springs, came across Rusty Bellies and it is Frenchys no more. Best Grouper sandwich. Would like it if they offered better sides without an up charge, the that sandwich is DEFINITELY DELISH!!! They also serve local brews. Will definitely go back... More

Description
My husband Jack and I, along with our daughter and son-in-law, welcome you to Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill. Opened in June of 2005, Rusty Bellies is an achievement of three generations worth of goals spanning some thirty years. We are a family owned and operated establishment. Our family came to Tarpon Springs in the 1970's. My parents, Joe and Sue Reis, began the business by purchasing several boats, including a shrimp boat. Before long they had purchased the boat yard and developed the seafood business. In 1985, Jack and I took over operations, and it wasn't long before Jack began refurbishing boats. In 2002. we launched our shrimp boat, Julie Ann. The Julie Ann produces fresh gulf shrimp for Pelican Point Seafood and Rusty Bellies. Jack has since finished refurbishing the Redman, a grouper fishing boat, and the Crabracadabra, a stone crab boat. To this day the Julie Ann, Redman, and Crabracadabra are still family owned and operated by the Russells. Rusty Bellies Waterfront Grill is named for our family's love of fishing, namely gulf grouper fishing. A "Rusty Bellie" is the nickname given to the large male gag grouper. A "Rusty Bellie" generally ranges between twenty and sixty pounds, and is typically caught by the true at heart fisherpersons. As you look around our restaurant you will see photos of family, friends, and local fisherman that bring the freshest seafood to our dock. The menu gives credit to many of our fishermen by naming the dishes after their beloved boats. Of course, there are too many boats to give credit to each, but keep in mind their dedication to providing FRESH FLORIDA WILD CAUGHT SEAFOOD. It is an honor that we continue what our family began many yeas ago. We value our guests, and we are honored to have you dine with us. Please sit back and enjoy the view and allow us to prepare the freshest seafood, including gluten fee options, available for you. Julie and the Russell Family
