The Columbia is obviously a "must eat" restaurant in Tampa. We went with a large group of friends who would join us on a cruise the next day. The place was jam-packed, noisy, and fun. We loved our server and enjoyed picking from a menu with a huge selection of veggies, fish, and meat, most having Cuban roots. Reservations are... More

All locations are good the Ybor City location has the real Spanish atmosphere with excellent service, and a great selection of great dishes. The Paella is wonderful for sea food lovers, Call the restaurant to see the dinner and Flamenco dancers schedule for a real treat. I have eaten at every one or the locations and never have been disappointed.... More

As the oldest Spanish restaurant in the country, this is a destination more than a restaurant. Huge, bustling, and unique, it is a must-stop. The food ranges from outstanding to good, but the service is top-notch. It is not only effective, but it is fun. When the waiters gather to sing happy birthday, they receive a well-deserved round of applause.... More

A fantastic meal with a history lessen to boot. A very old restaurant that is just beautiful inside. Its the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Florida and is the oldest Spanish Restaurant in the United States. It takes up a whole City block. Always very busy and is a must see in The Tampa area.

This restaurant was recommended to my family prior to leaving for Tampa from the Washington DC area. We made a reservation in person while spending the day touring the Ybor City area. You can reserve for dinner only or for dinner and the nightly Flamenco show. We had the later and can honestly say I have never had a dinner... More

This is a must-see place when visiting Tampa in Ybor City. It's beautiful inside and reminded me of some of the castles-turned-hotels we stayed in when visiting La Rioja region of Spain. Just beautiful mosaics, paintings, garden area. We had been told to absolutely try the 1905 salad, which is very good but uses iceberg lettuce! It's a nice chef... More

Incredible food, beautiful building on the inside. All the rooms have their own style. Impeccable service. The best Cuban/Spanish restaurant in Florida, if not the US

We went to the original Columbia restaurant in Ybor City on Saturday night. It was jam-packed and we were unable to get a table before 10am. We made a reservation and returned for Sunday. Columbia has been around since 1905 and run by the same family. They have other restaurants and cafes but the Ybor City is the original. It... More

This is an ionic Tampa establishment full of rich history and authentic Cuban cuisine. We dined at the Ybor City location. The sangria made table side was good, as was the Cuban sandwich. But we really enjoyed the 1905 salad and the Ybor City Devil Crab Croquette! On the downside, chairs were very uncomfortable and no effort was made to... More

Great service, excellent food, beautiful settings, plenty of room. We were not rushed and had plenty of time between dishes.

Description
Open 365-days a year, including all holidays. Serving lunch and dinner daily. Reservations accepted. Children's menu available. In addition to award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine, Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City features Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday - Saturday. There is no show on Sunday. The Café offers live jazz Tuesday through Saturday. The Hernandez Gonzmart family has been making restaurant history since 1905 when they opened their landmark Columbia Restaurant in Tampa's Historic Ybor City, which today is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Today, 4th & 5th generation family members work hard to preserve the family's legacy that their great-grandfather Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. created over 111 years ago when he opened the Columbia as a corner café frequented by local cigar workers. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Our guests enjoy many of the same century-old family recipes that have made the Columbia famous like Paella "a la Valenciana," Snapper "Alicante" Pompano en Papillot, The Original Cuban Sandwich, and Filet Mignon "Columbia". Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Enjoy an ice cold pitcher of Sangria or Mojitos, or sample a fine Spanish wine like Montecillo or Campillo from our award-winning wine list.
