For being located in an airport the food was good. I had the mojo chicken which was a chicken sandwich and enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and food was surprisingly good.

Had a quick lunch here before getting on a Delta flight to Detroit. Just right for our needs. Hostess accommodated my wheelchair and we got pretty quick service. 1905 salad is a favorite and although it was not quite as well done as at a full Columbia Restaurant, it was very tasty and much better than all the other airport... Firstly, take this location of Columbia for what it is. It's an airport restaurant. We, as customers, are generally in a rush to get to our planes, as compared to visiting one of the actual Columbia restaurants, where you would generally want to take your time and enjoy the experience. The food here is far better than most airport food!... More

A little different than your typical airport restaurant by offering a little taste of Columbia. Full bar with in door and "outdoor" (in wide walkway) and bar seating. Latin music. Helpful servers. Nice value for airport fare. $$

Airport food has definitely taken a step up from the overpriced, stale fare of years past. The Columbia is a bright spot in the Tampa airport, well worth a visit for the Cuban menu. I was waffling between the Cuban sandwich and their signature salad, and the waitress suggested I get half of each. Brilliant! The full salad would have... More

We were really disappointed in this restaurant. We were waiting to get on our flight and its a good thing that we had time as the service was very, very slow. Food was just average and for breakfast it was okay a little pricey for what you got. I would not go back again as also there really is a... More

The service was quick and very cordial. The wait staff is very professional with good recommendations for a pleasant meal. The black bean soup was excellent as were the maduros. The ropa vieja was very filling and not too spicy. Hit the right note for an airport cafe.

We have previously had a great dining experience at the Tampa location so naturally were thrilled to discover there is an outpost at the Tampa International Airport. We ordered roast pork sandwiches to take away on the flight. Roast pork was very salty, onions pretty much raw, bread soggy. It was not a good experience, very disappointing.

Been to airports in 16 countries and this was a pleasure to find at Tampa airport. Good menu selection, great Cuban food and great sandwiches on great bread. Bar theme but friendly staff at bar and tables. Fair pricing and good draft beer selection and mixed drinks. I'll be sure to check out one of their off airport locations in... More

Description
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, offering family recipes that have made the Columbia famous for over a century, like the Original Tampa Cuban Sandwich (proclaimed by Tampa's City Council as the City's "Signature Sandwich"), steaming hot bowls of Spanish Bean Soup and Cuban Black Bean Soup, and the too good to miss, Original "1905" Salad(R), named "One of the 10 Best Salads to Make a Meal Out Of" by USA Today. Other menu favorites include Miranda's Ybor City Devil Crab Croquettes, Chicken and Yellow Rice "Ybor" and Picadillo "Criollo." Breakfast choices include Eggs Malaguena, Tortilla Espanola, Torreja's and the Ybor City standard breakfast of Cafe con Leche and Cuban toast. The original Columbia Restaurant was founded in Tampa's Historic Ybor City in 1905 by Cuban immigrant Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. It began as a 60-seat corner cafe known for its Cuban coffee and authentic Cuban sandwiches, frequented by the local cigar workers. Today The Columbia is Florida's Oldest RestaurantSM. Inside the Columbia Restaurant Cafe at Tampa International Airport, customers can dine at a scaled version of the original Brunswick bar, built over a century ago at Columbia Ybor City. A full bar is available. Serving Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily. Please see our website for the most current menu.
