Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a hidden gem. It felt like home warm cosy. Great decor great staff welcoming and friendly. The tea selection is amazing. The food is made there and then not pre prepared and fresh quality. I cannot recommend this little gem enough. I felt like...family. It was like being in grandmum house. ThankyouMore

I was looking forward to going back to actually sitting down in a cafe and had my first lunch out for months at The Drop in cafe. It was my first time there and it was amazing. The decor, very English and cosy and no...dramas about the virus rulings, just carefully placed tables. The food and coffee were excellent as was the service. When we walked in Nora Jones was playing, looked around and thought this is heaven!! Three months without cafes may have slighted affected my mind but will be back there very soon!More

I LOVE this cafe!!! One of my most favourite little hidden gems in Boronia. The high tea is so special I felt teary on how beautifully presented is was and such a special surprise for my mum, the ingrediants are sourced locally everything is home...made with love and beautifully presented. All the portion sizes are perfect! The staff are always so lovely, bubbly and they always happy to cater for peoples individual dietry requirments. It is very obvious the owners work very hard on their business and often have new dishes added to the menu. The have probably the best tea list I have found in Melbourne so far with teas sourced internationally. Everytime I walk in I feel so happy, the space is so unique, beaituful and homey. It reminds me of tea and scones at nanas. I could go on and on and on but I highly reccomend this beautiful cafe!! <3More

Step inside and you feel like you’re visiting a friends house. It’s cosy and inviting, as the owner is stylish and welcoming. The coffee is always great, and today I had the soft pesto eggs which were magnificent. The burst of flavours was just Devine,...taking me back to European adventures years ago. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place, it’s fantastic.More

Starting out in the area I popped in to this place(again) that was recommended by a local. The interior is oldy wordy and very quaint. Nice mix and match furniture and cutlery and tea sets. Had breakfast crepes with bacon and eggs; mouth watering runny...yolk. Coffee was great (ive had it before here). Breakfast menu doesn't say if they have raisin toast or simple toast and jam for a light meal. Otherwise a fantasyummytastic breakfast and I'll go and try lunch soon.More

Cosy and comfortable, coffee was good and the crepes I had was heavenly. I think the price is a bit expensive for the portion but the quality is really good, so I think you need to decide whether you’re hungry or just want something that’s...made really well.More

The first place I go when I want to eat out in Boronia. Home style meals, friendly service, eclectic vintage interior. Feels like you’re sitting in a friend’s home. Delicious looking cakes. Excellent coffee.

I had arranged yo meet a couple old friends at The Drop In, and I was in for a pleasant surprise. The food was really good. Great coffee and the veggie wrap was to die for! Ha! The unique element I loved was the friendliness...of both the staff and the clientele. While some came to quietly work on their computers, other was very open for a chat. Alpa has created a beautiful, warm space with interesting decor and we just loved it. Going back again with my family tomorrow!More

I held out hope that finally there was a café in Boronia that was good, based on the current reviews I gave it a go. Very disappointed, but not surprised considering the location. It was 1pm on a weekday and they had already run out...of a couple of the popular dishes (should have been a warning sign). I ordered the croissant french toast which was supposed to include "honey yogurt and berry compote". What I got was 2 tiny little french toast croissants which were bland, with about a spoonful of berries dumped on the top. For $14. The server said "sorry but we ran out of greek yogurt, but here is some cream on the side" (about 1 tbsp of unwhipped runny cream) and scurried off before I could say anything. I had to go and ask for more berries and didn't bother asking them to whip the cream and just left it. The person with me ordered a toastie and apple pie slice. The toastie ($8) you could make at home for $2 and was very small and not very filled. The apple slice was served lukewarm. The coffee was good. Honestly I'm just gonna give up on cafes any further out than Ringwood. They never seem to know what they're doing or even try very hard, yet charge full price. People are just so desperate for a cafe 5 mins away from home like you'd get in Melbourne, that they go to them anyway.More
