It's food I make at home. It pains me to pay so much for such simple food. But, many people can't cook anymore without cans and boxes. Service was so so. Just nothing good or bad about it.

Our lunch was a disappointment. We ordered fried chicken which was dried out and over cooked. The best thing was the coconut cream pie we had for desert. There is a large bakery and gift shop in the restaurant. Take advantage of the delicious baked goods, but there are better places in Sarasota for lunch.

We had the lunch buffet; the food was good and the staff paid a lot of attention to the buffet line relative to refilling depleted items and maintaining appearance/cleanliness. There were ample selections for lunch and everything I had was good. This place is very busy with a lot of bus groups and small groups. At 1:00 we had to... More

We went to Der Dutchman for lunch. They do know how to handle large numbers of people. A line that looked like a long wait was really about a 10 minute wait. We both decided to enjoy the buffet and that's exactly what we did. The broasted chicken was delicious as well as most of the sides like yummy sweet... More

First visit here and left very satisfied! Food was fresh, delicious and not layered in salt like most places these days. You could taste what you were actually eating. Staff is friendly, the buffet has just about everything you'd like to try but if that doesnt suit you, you can order of their menu. Will be back.

We did the buffet for dinner that had plenty of traditional offerings. Prices were decent ($15 for adults, $5 for kids and $0 for under 2). Not tons of desert options at buffet, but plenty of home style pies available. Location off the main path but went with family who had recommended and been before. Nothing exotic but if you... More

This is an Amish restaurant which offers a huge buffet including salad, with items like mustard eggs (I've never tried them) pickled eggs, chicken and ham salad and all the usual salad bar type fixin's you see at other buffets. The food bar consists of, gravy, Mac-n- cheese, dressing, a variety of meats, including fish choices, vegetables such as carrots,... More

Had a great lunch and took home some great pastries. Nice lunch menu served in a very relaxed environment. Nothing special about lunch but the bakery is another story. Cookies , pies, cakes, fudge and so much more. We bought a banana cream pie and it was the best that I ever had. Shortbread cookies and doughnuts a huge hit... More

Been there a few times just okay nothing to write home about ... not a big selection on the breakfast buffet. Two types or hash browns and types of eggs bacon and sausage a little over $9 a person.

Management response:

Thanks so much for your review. I am sorry that you were disappointed with the selection on our breakfast buffet. Our buffet should always have biscuits and gravy, fried mush, French toast, pancakes, & baked oatmeal too. I apologize if those items were not present during your visit. Jeff More
