On a recent trip to Sarasota/Siesta Key, we had lunch at Captain Curt's -- billed as having "The World's Best Clam Chowder" (New England style). My wife and I would have to agree -- the clam chowder was delicious and loaded with clams -- certainly the best we have ever had, even in New England. Unpretentious restaurant but there is... More

I have had better tasting fish at Long John Silver's. Another member of our party ordered a different combo platter on which the fish was broiled, and nothing was fried. He seemed... More

It has recently been remodeled and there have been a few tweaks to the menu but overall excellent quality food served hot at a reasonable price. There's something for everyone. They... More

Great seafood. Love the gator meat and soups. Hugh opened place to hold big parties. Go early so there will not be much waiting.

...I think that they count as a food group and the awarding winning clam chowder wasn't bad as a follow-on.

I went at the suggestions of friends and given it was directly across from our condo we were renting. The clam chowder is to die for, they also have File fish, which I had never heard of, but if you like Cod, I think you will like this. Lastly there is likely to be a good band playing a stone...
