Picked by our friends from Ft Myers, and it was their 1st time also. Very nice menu offering Starters (small plates) and entrees, which can also be ordered as "petite". All very much enjoyed a starter and petite entree, and quantity was more than sufficient. For starters we had seared scallops, New Orleans style BBQ shrimp and a nite's special... More

We did not expect to find such sophisticated cuisine in such a casual environment. The sauces were wonderful and the ingredients fresh and flavorful. Two dishes not to miss are the pork belly and clam appetizer and the fish stew. They show off this chef's talents. The service was professional and friendly. If you are in Sanibel for dinner don't... Sweet Melissa's is simply a must stop for anyone serious about food visiting or living in southwest Florida. Great wine list with many available by the glass. This chef operated restaurant continues to excite and evolve. I can't recommend it enough.

Actually made our reservations for a Saturday evening before traveling to Captiva. We were greeted as though we were regulars ... even gave us our same table as our last visit! Four of us enjoyed apps of Fettuccine Carbonara (the best!) and a Romaine Salad (big enough to share). Our main courses (which come in two sizes) of Fish Stew... More

We had a good dinner here while vacationing in Sanibel island. They got booked quickly so early reservation is recommended. Here are what we had A bottle of Four Graces Pinot Noir from Oregon. This wine is medium bodied with berry and floral notes, good with seafood but has the backbone to handle red meat. Easy drinking with food. Recommended.... More

When deciding where to go for our 25th anniversary dinner while vacationing on Sanibel, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. Food is amazing, staff is great. They make a great cosmopolitan as well! We plan on going back for lunch before we leave.

My wife is nuts for this place-and It changed my life. No more wondering what to do for my Valentine on her birthday, or our anniversary. I'm a creature of habit, and always get their smoked tenderloin. It's The best piece of beef in this town! My wife lives to try the next great delight from Melissa and her skilled... More

My husband and I love our dinners here and we have never been disappointed. However, we are concerned about the menu changes, otherwise this would be a 5 star rating. We don't eat red meat and this has never been an issue here but now the choices are quite limited. We love seafood, but not with bacon etc. We also... More

If you go here do not look up! The food was excellent, the service was even better! We sat towards the back of the restaurant and were able to see the Shag ceiling carpet. Yes I said Shag ceiling carpet, maybe it is there for acoustics which keeps echoes to a minimum except for the fact that it is Filthy!!... More
