If you want to eat great seafood while on the coast, Shrimp Basket isn't the best option. They have a decent-sized menu focussing on seafood, with other options for non-seafood lovers. My husband's shrimp etoufee was just bad, my granddaughter's hamburger bun was burned, and the fried okra was unusually tough and dried out. I had grilled shrimp, which were... More

Got there about 12:45 pm on a Tuesday and we were lucky to get a table inside, but when I see a restaurant full I figure they must be doing something right. For lent they have been having AYCE fish daily and today's choices were whitefish or catfish and we both choose whitefish. Our meals came with 2 hush puppies,... More

Shrimp Basket now has AYCE fish until mid April. Had the white fish blackened with red beans and rice and cole slaw. It was good, better than expected but the portions are small and the service was slow on a not very busy night. I'm sure this is to discourage multiple reorders since it would take all night to get... More

It was around 12:45pm we went today so maybe it was slow because it was lunchtime, but still at least the food was good and our waitress was great.

BONUS NOTE: during the week of Thanksgiving, you can order gift cards for Buy 1 Get 1 Free. We always order extra ones so we can give some as gifts and have... More

My husband and I stopped in on a weekday evening recently. The place was not that busy. We, and eveyone else waited and EXTREMELY long time for the food. We were told that one cook was not there that night. The fried shrimp and fish were just not up to par.

This restaurant is I've step up from a fast food restaurant in amount of food vs quality of food vs price of dinners. I found the good to be of average quality and nothing special.

we had just arrived on the beach and wanted a quick bite, considering it was around 9pm. at the time Shrimp Basket was new to the beach and we thought we would check it out. the food was "at best" modest. it tasted frozen and fried, not fresh Gulf seafood, considering it is across the street! service was ok, not... Went with two other couples. The service, the staff , and, especially the food, exceeded our expectations. The restaurant can easily accommodate large families and groups. Will definitely stop here again.
