I ate here all the time when I was stationed here, and when my family would visit they enjoyed it here also (and were from Texas so we know a bit about Mexican food). Anytime I'm in the area I always go in for a chillie reano (that's probably misspelled).

I had a Groupon for this place - with the name of Rio Bravo - not Monterrey's. The bldg exterior says Rio Bravo, too. In any case, a pretty lousy experience. Not clean. Windows are filthy. Table wasn't clean. Bathrooms are rather gross. This is the kind of restaurant that pulls your napkin-wrapped fork and spoon out of a bin... More

We used to eat here from time to time when it was Monterrey's, and indeed, there are fixtures in the restaurant that still say Monterrey's, but the big new sign outside says Rio Bravo. Perhaps they have joined a chain, or something, but it pretty much looks like the old Monterrey. I tried one of the dinners, Alhambre, and it... More

We had a group of about 10 people for dinner. The food was not what I was used to for Mexican food. (We are from Austin TX). Pretty bland and just ok. When I paid for the whole table, they made the charges to my card. A little while later, one of the other guests was charged for the whole... More

We came in at 9:00 for a late dinner. There were only a few other tables occupied at that time. The complementary bean dip was great. Service was good and the food was served quickly. We enjoyed the tacos and tostados.

We were greeted immediately and found the waiter to be very attentive. The chips that were placed on the table were very light and crispy and the salsa was just perfect. We ordered the chili rellenos which came with a small guacamole salad. The guacamole was very good and fresh. We also ordered chicken fajitas and a taco salad. No... More

This is where we usually go for Mexican food. Most dishes are typical Americanized Mexican food. Nothing we have had is really spicy hot. We have had a few Chili Rellenos that were a bit greasy, but Beef or Chicken Burritos and Tacos are usually pretty good.

My experience on this visit was less than satisfactory, from greeting to leaving was unprofessional. My server acted indifferent, never spoke after taking my order. The food was uninspired, but eatable. Prices are ok. I would never return.

Have had several lunches here from time to time. Always good service and food is a solid 3. I like the chips (light, crispy, and always fresh) and salsa (just a touch of cumin). Their lunch menu items are very reasonably priced and a nice variety. Food is well prepared with a range beyond the standard fare of tacos, burritos,... More

It has been way too many years since I have been back east, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and authenticity of the food at Monterrey's Mexican Grill. I always consider it a good thing when the staff is from the appropriate country. In this case, I was able to speak with them in Spanish (or English), so... More
